This Is About Us.

I believe dancing is one way we celebrate life. It's how we connect with people, make friends, share music, and create memories.

I want to share some personal thoughts about what we're building at the Moose. These are my own feelings and opinions, coming straight from the heart.

Last Friday, we welcomed about 17 new members into our community. It got me thinking about what we're really building here.

Some people have asked what the Moose stands for. Here's my take: You don't have to believe in the Moose's mission to believe in what we're doing together. This is about our dance community.

We have a rare opportunity to do something different. We can build a venue where the dance community has a real voice in how the place operates.

We call The Moose 'The New Joe's'. But what if we could take that idea a step further? What if this time, the dance community had a meaningful say in its own future?

We've all seen dances disappear when bar management changes, owners go in a different direction, or venues decide dancing no longer fits their plans. Dance studios are closing, too.

What if we built a place run by the dance community, for the dance community?

A place where we're not simply renting a dance floor—we're helping shape its future.

That's what membership makes possible. Not because it's about the Moose. Because it's about US.

Let's build something that lasts.

Hello Dancing Moose Family,

We'd like to provide a little housekeeping note about our Friday nights at the Moose

We want to take a moment to remind everyone about something important—and we promise, it should not change your enjoyment of our dance nights.

The Burbank Moose Lodge is a private social club, so we have a few rules to follow—especially at the bar.

If you're a Moose Member, you're welcome to enjoy the bar. If you're not a member, you can still dance, enjoy the music, take a lesson, hang out with your friends, and be part of our community, as always.

The only difference is that bar privileges are reserved for Moose Members and their qualified guests.

We'll have up some signs at the bar to help make this distinction clear. Please don't take it personally if you're not a member and one of our volunteers reminds you about the policy. They're just doing their best to help us keep things running smoothly.

Here's the bigger picture:

For the past five years, we've worked really hard to build something special at the Moose. We've brought dancers together, introduced people to live music, helped new dancers find their community, and watched this little dance scene grow after so much decline post-COVID.

We want to keep it going!

That's why we've always encouraged people who love dancing here to consider becoming a Moose member. Membership isn't just about bar privileges. It's about becoming part of the place itself.

Think of it a little like owning a home. When you're a member, you have a stake in the place. You're not just someone who comes through the door on Friday night—you become part of the group that makes Friday nights, and so much more, possible.

Most importantly, membership gives our dance community a voice. It ensures we have a place to dance for years to come.

We've built something pretty special here over the past five years. We want to make sure it's still here five, ten, and twenty years from now.

This is our dance home. Let's keep building it together.
