A little transparency from me todayā¦ š¤
I woke up this morning to an email about someoneās experience at Glow last night, and I wonāt lieāit was hard to read. When youāve poured years of your heart, time, money, and life into a small business, those words can hit pretty hard.
Last night was an unexpectedly VERY busy night. After coming out of slower months, we are incredibly gratefulābut staffing a small business when business can change dramatically from one night to the next is challenging. Sometimes that means longer waits, even while our team is working incredibly hard.
The reality is, the restaurant industry is tough right now. Food, alcohol, labor, utilities, insurance and supplies all cost moreāand we know going out costs more for you, too. When youāre paying $19ā$20 for a craft cocktail, you deserve a great experience. We know that.
We will always encourage you to share your experience with us, good or bad. We want to hear it, because thatās how we know where weāre succeeding and where we can improve. But we also ask for a little understanding and grace when an unexpectedly busy night happens. There is so much that goes into keeping a small, locally owned restaurant runningāespecially in todayās economyāthat you may never see from the other side of the bar.
Being a small business isnāt an excuse. We simply hope youāll keep in mind that behind Glow are real people working incredibly hard to give you the experience you came for.
