Friday: Physical Graffiti – Led Zeppelin (1975)
Led Zeppelin’s sixth studio album and arguably their best. This album is a collection of some of John Bonham and John Paul John’s best grooves mixed with Jimi Page’s best work in a studio. With a mix of funk, blues, cosmic ballads, acoustic interludes, and hard rock anthems, Physical Graffiti covers all of Zeppelin’s bases.
Saturday: Illmatic – Nas (1994)
This is a staple of Nas’s career and one of the most famous classic Hip-Hop records of all time. Nas began recording Illmatic at 19 years old with help from some of Hip Hop’s best producers: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, the Large Professor, and Q-Tip. As a reflection of the New York projects he grew up in, Illmatic doesn’t shy away from the gritty aspects of growing up around crime and poverty.
Sunday: Live at Carnegie Hall – Cameron Winter (2026)
Released just last Friday, Live at Carnegie Hall is brand new. It features Cameron Winter, the famous lead singer for Geese, performing his songs solo on stage with piano. This presentation of Winter’s music stands in stark contrast to the usual chaotic arrangements with Geese or on his solo records. Hearing Winter in this new light brings comparisons to other famous songwriters like Bob Dylan, Carole King, and Leanord Coen.
