The road has been long and arduous; and my regulars deserve an explanation. After dealing for two years with a senile landlord, I have reached my end. Within three months of being in business, my landlord raised my purchase price nearly $10,000.00, in exchange for payments to begin after the original date set forth in the contract because I had replaced so many large ticket items between the two buildings involved in the transaction. "I want you on your feet", he said... and so it was done. We delayed the loan terms, with payments resuming in December of 2012. Shame on me, after twelve years of contract and finance manangement in my prior job... I didn't get it in writing. On Monday, we were presented a letter that stated non-payment of rent from the landlord's attorney. Payments were regular and on-time, last one clearing my bank on October 16th, 2013. I feel like I am stating too much, but I know how this town is... I needed to let the truth out. The landlord has owned this building since 1983 and anyone that has "owned" or "occupied" the 151 since then has suffered the same fate. I know what my terms were, I have my receipts and records, but what I don't have are his initials on our date change on the contract and I don't have "good-ol boy money" to match what he could put against me to fight in court. Thank you to everyone that stopped in for a drink at the club. I learned a lot about people and relationships in my short time. I've learned that between my prior job in Columbus and this sometimes small-minded town; we judge others.... I have met some of the hardest-working, kind, drop-anything-in-a-moment-to-help-you kinda people. Thank you all. I apologize for the delay, wanted first to notify anyone that had dates booked before I posted. Also, anyone that has purchased a square on our football pools will receive their money back. Anyone that has signed daily and weekly books will be given a time, date, and location in which a winner will be pulled and all money paid out of our pool. Please send a private message if you want an invite to the drawing event. Once again, I'm sorry...Here's to those who have tried, and shame on those that don't and point fingers... Thank you all for your business:)
