Melba’s Place
With the best drinks and the most affordable prices in Baltimore city, it is not a wonder why Melba’s Place is the gathering spot for some of Baltimore’s and DC’s finest. Melba’s Place opened the doors at 3126 Greenmount Ave. in 1999. Prior to its Waverly Village opening in 99’, Melba’s Place was opened in 1994 on the west side of Baltimore on Monroe Street. Having built a strong reputation through word of mouth, a firm handshake or a hug, and a great drink owner Matthew Bradley now needed more space to realize his dream to take his lounge (named after his daughter Melba)(FYI...the club section of melba's place is called Erika's room, after his youngest daughter) to the best club/lounge in town.
Melba’s Place was an early success due to four things; Great drinks (no plastic, all glassware), great prices, great music and most importantly great service! This formula proved 100% accurate as Melba’s Place grew and now needed more room. The opportunity to move to the larger 3126 Greenmount location presented itself and with expansion in 04’ and more expansion slated for early 2010 Melba’s Place is now a Baltimore legend.
Through the years Melba’s Place has never advertised and tried to build its name on reputation and word of mouth. Today if you walk through the doors of Melba’s Place you will find teachers, firemen, policemen, government employee’s and the like partying in not only the best but the SAFEST lounge/ club in town. Stop by any night or afternoon and see what you have been missing……
