Studio E Song Class

Studio E Song Class For years, Studio E Song Class has been working with rock, pop, Broadway, country and R&B singers to help them find their inner star!

We've worked with beginners and seasoned pros, all looking for their solo spotlight!

SONG CLASS at STUDIO E is BACK!

So what IS Song Class? (I know, stupid name, but we like it…).

Well, someone at the last show actually called it Rock Star Fantasy Camp. So, yeah, singing with a band at a cool club IS pretty cool.... but we also do pop, blues, R&B and more!

The biggest difference between Song Class and vocal coaching is performance. Now in its 13th year, Song Class is designed to help singers find material that works for their voice in addition to adding technique and performance skills. Our goal is to make you comfortable in front of any audience, no matter how large or small. We don’t just focus on singing, we work on song selection, mic technique, performance technique and more.

This season's Song Class starts on Sunday, January 27th at 7:30th, with final performance on or about April 28th. The show on the 28th will also include fairly complex group numbers, as well as backing vocal arrangements. Cost for the program is $450 (three payments of $150). Class DOES include additional rehearsals as show date nears.

Register quick, though.... this one fills up pretty fast, and space is limited! Just drop us an email at [email protected], or call Liz at 512-797-6553 if you have questions!

Also: we WILL be adding a second section on Monday nights for a Cabaret (Storytelling Through Song) class. If you are interested in this class, please contact us as soon as possible! While we don't have as many videos from that class available (we're working on that!), sample videos of that format are below:

Look forward to singing with you soon!

I posted this - and a couple of other ones from this show - on youtube not too long ago, I realized today that I never linked any of them! While I have several vids from this special night to post (I'm months behind, I know - I beg your patience!), I wanted to share this incredible performance from our Cabaret Class Show, "Once Upon a Song". This class is about connecting the singer to the song, and the song to the audience through storytelling and personal journeys. You GO, Christina!

This just does my heart good! Cassie and Basil just charmed us all, and a big shout out to Astrum and Cory on the guitars....

Crazy - Brandi Andrade and Basil Brown

A new take on a fabulous funk song!

Hey Singers!

Cabaret Class starts July 29th!

So what makes Cabaret Class different from “regular” Song Class? Well, for starters, it’s shorter (six weeks of class and two weeks of show prep). Second, it’s smaller… less students, but still the same in-class time. Third, there is a writing component. Cabaret Class is about learning how to connect yourself with a song, and then connect the song with the audience. It is about storytelling and music and finding your own voice!

The show itself is a small, intimate show, which means smaller, more intimate songs. Often, we will re-purpose songs, or create new arrangements designed to showcase the stories behind the songs. All in all, Cabaret Class is a great opportunity to learn how to make a bigger impact in a smaller setting!

Previous Song Class experience is strongly recommended, but exceptions can be made (contact Liz)!

Class begins Sunday, July 27, and runs for six classes (last formal class is on September 2nd, although we may delay or reschedule that class due to Labor Day if necessary). Show date is on September 22nd(alternate date September 23rd). Cost for the entire program is $325, and we do have payment plans.

To register, contact Liz at [email protected]. Class size is limited!

Maybe because the weather had forced us to move the show indoors. Or maybe because this is one of my favorite songs, being sung by one of the people who introduced it to me 30 years ago. Or maybe because it's two of my favorite people in the whole world just living in this wonderful moment of music. Whatever the reason, this performance of "Weather With You" by Peggy Schott and Darin Murphy is just a little magical slice of a really lovely night.

Astrum Lux on the drums, Cory Glaeser on guitar, DR Commander on keys, Rick Watson on bass, and Darin Murphy on guitar. Enjoy.

A different take on Beyonce's "Crazy in Love." Brenna Studivant just knocked this one OUT. I am so honored to know this incredible young woman.... so many great things lie ahead! (I also love seeing the beautiful support flowing from Angela Dorsey, Basil Brown and Brandi Andrade.
