Altered Beast.

Earth origin: Sega, 1988. The game begins with Zeus resurrecting a dead warrior and issuing the highly specific order to rescue Athena. From there, the procedure is simple and deeply unsanitary: fight through mythological creatures, collect spirit balls, and transform into beasts with better combat options than the human body provides.

Wolf. Dragon. Bear. Tiger. Gold werewolf.

Nurse Tomethy Kirbny, Galactix medical staff, reviewed the transformation sequence and filed his report under “ALTERING.” The cabinet is available for passengers who like growing their claws.

Galactix Log //: ROBOCOP

Recovered from late-20th-century Earth media culture: Data East’s RoboCop arcade game, released in 1988 and based on the 1987 film.

Operational format: side-scrolling action. Passenger controls RoboCop through hostile Detroit sectors, advancing screen by screen with the Auto-9, close-range attacks.

Galactix archive note: this cabinet is a compact study in Earth’s favorite contradiction: building a violent corporate future, then turning it into entertainment with a joystick and a start button.

Passengers may now approach the unit and uphold the law through disciplined button input.

The 3rd Annual Wookie Cup has concluded, and the standings have been entered into the ship’s permanent records.

Dana secured 1st Place.
Stephanie claimed 2nd Place.
Cory completed the podium with 3rd Place.

Congratulations to all three for maintaining composure under sustained steel-ball conditions.

Passengers: external alliance notice.

On Sunday, May 3, the Galactix will be extending diplomatic support to The Force is Gathering, a Star Wars Day celebration at Breakside Brewery benefitting the ADHDA. Admission is free. All ages are cleared for boarding.

Launch sequence begins at 12:00 PM with a full range of Earthside activity: photos with the Concordia Clan of Mandalorian Mercs, face painting for declared clan loyalty, trivia combat for passengers pursuing Jedi Master status, costumes, additional games, and a “Han Solo Cup” cocktail from the Breakside Cantina with a portion of sales routed to the cause.

The Galactix will be contributing a Mandalorian pinball machine to the event, along with giving away a free private party aboard the ship. So if you’ve been waiting for a proper reason to gather your crew, wear a helmet, and win something useful, this is an excellent one.

Passengers: on May 3, the Galactix will temporarily reclassify itself as a competitive pinball vessel.

The occasion is the Galactix Wookie Cup 2026, operating as a side event to the Merry Time Bar's Salty Mermaid Cup for those who missed tickets, missed finals, or simply prefer their Saturday structured around flippers and public scorekeeping.

Practice and sign-ups begin at 11 AM. Tournament procedures begin at 12 PM. Qualifying runs until 4 PM, at which point the top 16 will advance to a one-strike final.

Entry is $15 plus coin drop. Cash prizes will be issued to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Boarding is open to passengers 13 and older.

Coordinates: Galactix, in the basement just west of Time Bar & Grill —an acceptable location for this level of tension.

Iron Maiden pinball is in the Galactix arsenal, where it rewards those willing to Run to the Hills and punishes those who assume they can improvise under pressure.

The machine is loud, fast, and built for passengers who prefer their pinball at Flight of Icarus velocity. Multiball tends to arrive somewhere between 2 Minutes to Midnight and total systems failure, while the soundtrack does an excellent job of convincing you that this next ball will be The Trooper that turns everything around. It won’t. You will try again.

By the time you’re staring down the last ball, it’s usually The Evil That Men Do to themselves: overconfidence, bad timing, and one panicked shot into the void. Still, passengers return with Infinite Dreams, certain the next run will not end in Wasted Years.

Shipboard classification: Silent Scope.

Manufacturer: Konami.

Function: an Earth arcade shooting system built around a physical rifle controller with an integrated scope, so passengers can spend a few minutes pretending they were bred for impossible calm. The game is structured around distant targets, short windows, and the very old human belief that precision becomes more impressive when other people are watching.
