OutRun's red car is not just a generic arcade sports car.

Designer Yu Suzuki reportedly saw a Ferrari Testarossa in Monaco while researching European scenery for OutRun, and that car became the key visual reference for the game’s famous red convertible.

That matters because OutRun was selling a very specific 1986 idea: fast car, coastal roads, bright scenery, and a radio track selected before the drive starts.

An unidentified pink cylinder has been decoded.

LULZ Pink Lemonade Hard Seltzer from LULZ Hard Seltzer. 5% ABV. Not b**r. Not c***r. Not a cocktail. Just tart citrus, light sweetness, and hard seltzer carbonation in the simplest possible delivery system.

Recommended for passengers who want something cold and adult without making crew assemble a beverage with tools. The ship respects efficiency.

September Alphavox Trials are open. The Score Archive has created two fresh vacancies.

ARCADE — OutRun
Score to beat: 0

PINBALL — Guns N’ Roses
Score to beat: 0

Submissions are active through the end of the month. All scores are welcome. Passengers must show crew a photo of their best score; if it is the highest submitted, it goes on the board.

This month’s prize is $25 to Delilah.

The ship has selected one driving trial and one rock-and-roll pinball hazard. This is not a theme. It is a stress test for steering, flippers, reflexes, and whatever part of the passenger brain says, “I can beat that.”

August Alphavox Trials final transmission: the board has been sealed.

ARCADE — 1943
Paul takes the win with 712,470.

PINBALL — TMNT
Kyle takes the win with 62,904,210.

Prize on file: $25 to the Columbian Theater.

The Score Archive recognizes both winning passengers for successful end-of-month damage to the previous benchmarks. Accounting has confirmed that the prize may be exchanged for a theater experience, which is the approved recovery method after sustained exposure to aircraft fire, sewer combat, and public leaderboard pressure.

Congratulations to Paul and Kyle. August has been processed.

Docking notice: Today, Saturday, August 29, Galactix will open at 5 PM.

We apologize for the delayed passenger access window. The schedule was adjusted after several internal departments agreed that “opening later” was preferable to “pretending the ship was ready when it was not.”

Normal operations will resume at 5 PM. Arcade systems, pinball units, galley service, and beverage logistics will be available at that time.

Thank you for your patience. Records has filed it under PASSENGER UNDERSTANDING — APPRECIATED, SLIGHTLY UNEXPECTED.

Galactix technical archive: 1943 is a useful reminder that old Earth arcade machines were often less “single-purpose monument” and more “reconfigurable entertainment vessel with questionable lifting requirements.”

The arcade release existed as both a dedicated cabinet and a conversion kit, using JAMMA wiring on Capcom hardware. That meant an operator could install the game into an existing cabinet instead of acquiring an entirely new unit, which is how many arcades kept fresh games moving through the floor without turning every update into a furniture crisis.

This is part of what makes machines like 1943 interesting beyond the screen. The game was not just software. It was boards, wiring, monitor orientation, control panels, operator choices, and the practical economics of keeping passengers feeding quarters into something new.

Galactix has classified it as arcade infrastructure history disguised as aerial combat.

August Alphavox Trials dispatch: the final stretch has begun.

1943 remains the arcade target at 345,950.
TMNT remains the pinball target at 57,958,150.

Submissions are still open through the end of the month. Passengers should show crew a photo of their best score; if it is the highest submitted, it enters the archive and replaces the current target.

Prize on file: $25 to the Columbian Theater .

The Score Desk recommends prompt action. Waiting until the last possible moment is permitted, but Records will note that this is how many avoidable space disasters begin.
