Dear Friends,
I'm writing to you today with a heavy heart, but also with a lot of gratitude. On behalf of my family, I wanted to mention the building where our family restaurants were. Today, they started tearing it down. So it's an emotional day for us – that building holds so many amazing memories from the past 25 years.
When my parents bought this place a quarter of a century ago, they saw it as more than a building that held a business. It was their way of being part of the Andover community, in a place that they owned. We've celebrated so many of your special moments, including some of our own family weddings there, and just enjoyed daily life together. We really appreciate all the support you've given us over the years.
Now that the building is coming down, there is a lot of talk about what comes next. The future of this spot is still up in the air, but l am excited about what I am hearing it could become. The most important thing is that it serves the community as Essex Street becomes the connection between the current downtown and the new development in Town Yard. Andover has a vibrant downtown that has been brilliantly developed by our neighbors and the town leadership; and it is poised for perhaps it's most dramatic change in a long time. The property where the restaurants were is a tiny piece of it, but with the right use it could be a beacon of creativity that improves the quality of life for our community, and further defines why we all want to live here.
Finally, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone in Andover. It's been great being a part of your lives, and we're looking forward to what's ahead. We’ve missed seeing you around the bar, and would love to hear from you.
Please feel free to get in touch if you want to chat about what's coming next. We're always here to talk.
Thanks again for everything,
Spiro Pappadopoulos
