On this date—December 9, 2000: Nick’s Sneaky Pete’s III opened its doors at 711 Central Ave in Albany with a special VIP, invite-only soirée. Nick Huban and his partners, Dino Damas and Michael Verdile, pulled out all the stops for the black-tie affair: early live music, ice sculptures, hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, champagne fountains, and a top-shelf open bar.

The anticipation built all night, and when the very first song hit—“Funky Town” by Lipps Inc. as a tribute to the original Sneaky Pete’s—the crowd rushed the dance floor. The venue officially opened to the public later that night for a “soft opening,” setting the stage for nearly a decade of pure decadence at the third and final incarnation of the famed nightclub.

Remembering our friend, Mike Smyers, who passed away two years ago on this date. Mike was a larger than life person and may be gone, but he’s certainly never forgotten. He kept us safe and we’ll never forget him. Please keep Mike in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏽

Facebook Friends: It is with profound sadness that we report the passing of Sneaky Pete's longtime Director of Security, Michael Smyers. Mike was taken to the hospital last night and was suffering from an unknown stomach condition (not related to Covid), and he died peacefully in his sleep this morning with his family by his side (1/7/22).

Not much more is known at this time, and we are all shocked and saddened to hear this unfortunate news. Mike will forever be respected and remembered for his devotion to keeping everyone safe at Sneaky Pete's. Mike was also involved throughout the construction process at the Albany location and played an important part in the operations behind the scenes. He was a protector, a handy person, and a friend to all. If he was busting your chops, that typically meant he liked you.

THE GIVING TREE IS NOW UP AND ACCEPTING DONATIONS. This program was established 2 years ago in the memory of Nick Huban.

We are asking for new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarfs for children. Donations will be given to the Unity House in Troy. This wonderful organization does great work for our community. Wishing our friend, mentor, and fearless leader, Nick Huban, a Happy 71st Birthday in Heaven. Nick is truly missed and not a day goes by that we don’t feel honored to have known him. A reminder to please honor Nick by being hospitable, friendly, and kind, to all. Cheers to this amazing person on his birthday. Gone, but never forgotten. 🎂

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our long time bartender, and good friend, Eric Elvis Viele. Elvis passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside today (Monday, February 21st 2022). Elvis was not only a skilled and passionate bartender, but he was also an entertainer whose energy, dancing, and strategically timed fireballs, helped to elevate the experience at Sneaky's. He was as funny as they come and just about anyone who knew him will be blessed with a lifetime of stories that others wouldn't understand, cause they never met the man, and they were not there. Please say a prayer, raise a glass and give our friend, Elvis, the final toast he deserves!

It’s Thursday, and everybody likes to BANG! 💥

This billboard was spotted in the wild. In addition: a giant mobile billboard was dragged around the college campuses, and banners were even pulled from an airplane on a few occasions.

The best college party, featuring nonstop shenanigans, and a life time of memories. Were you there?? 💥
