OK, so it's been a long time since 'Dillies" was open, but if you were one of the lucky ones to pass thru it's doors, you remember the energy this place had. Formerly the Galaxy Disco, Dilligaf's defined a generation of teen club heads and exploded onto the club scene with a force that still resonates to this day. "Dillies" as we alumni call it, was intoxicating and was the training ground for the

birth of House Music, Break Dancing and DJing. With regulars such as the Culitos, Windy City Breakers, Soul Sonic Breakers, Bonito Boyz and way too many others to mention, it has marked it's place in Chicago house music history. Doors were every Sunday night at 6:00, but the line wrapped outside and up the sidewalk by 5:30 during it's prime. Dottie (the door woman) was a redheaded female version of Steve Rubell, who would kick you out of line for even looking at her wrong, but we loved her anyway!
