Today, I attended the MPs’ Orientation on Social Protection Advocacy and the Dissemination Workshop for the Socio-Economic Status Report targeting refugee and host communities, held at the Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala.

The workshop provided valuable insights into social protection programs, community resilience, and strategies for improving the livelihoods of both refugees and host communities. It also highlighted the importance of evidence-based policy advocacy and inclusive development in addressing socio-economic challenges.

I appreciate the organizers and all stakeholders for creating this important platform for dialogue and learning aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable communities in Uganda.

Dear Beloved People Of Kiryandongo District,

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

It is with great joy and humility that I received the invitation from the Seventh-day Adventist Church Kiryandongo, extended to me by District Pastor's representative, Pastor Hababita Julius, to serve as Chief Guest at the Women Emphasis Day celebration on Saturday, 13th June, 2026.

The theme, "Hinneni, Here Am I!" drawn from Isaiah 5:8, is a powerful call to purpose, service, and presence. Today, I stand before you saying HERE AM I ready to serve, ready to support, and ready to stand with the women and people of Kiryandongo.

This celebration carries a noble cause: the roofing of our beloved Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kiryandongo. A church is more than a building, it is a home of faith, a sanctuary of hope, and a pillar of our community. I therefore call upon all women from Kizibu SDA, Kigumba SDA, and Kiryandongo to come together in unity and generosity as we raise funds towards this worthy goal.

May God bless you all, bless our church, and bless the great people of Kiryandongo District.

Yours in service,
HON. KATUSIIME JOVIA MBABAZI

Hon. Katusiime Jovia Mbabazi, Woman Member of Parliament for Kiryandongo District, today strongly supported the government's proposal to secure additional financing for the Solar-Powered Irrigation Project during proceedings in Parliament.
While making her submission, Hon. Jovia highlighted the challenges faced by farmers in Kiryandongo, especially the losses incurred during prolonged dry seasons due to limited access to reliable irrigation systems. She noted that solar-powered irrigation presents a sustainable and cost-effective solution that will enable farmers to maintain production throughout the year without the burden of high fuel costs.
Hon. Katusiime Jovia further appealed to the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to ensure that Kiryandongo District is included in the next phase of the project, emphasizing that the district missed out on the initial rollout.
She stressed that both commercial and small-scale farmers in Kiryandongo deserve to benefit from the government initiative, describing the project as a vital investment in agricultural production, food security, and household incomes.
"Solar irrigation is not merely an expenditure; it is an investment in production that will transform the livelihoods of our farmers and strengthen Uganda's agricultural sector," Hon. Jovia remarked.
She reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for programs that directly improve the welfare and economic prosperity of the people of Kiryandongo District.
