Dear customers,

On Wednesday evening last week, an incident occurred inside our nightclub involving one or two individuals. Unfortunately, the situation became chaotic and later went viral on social media.

The individuals involved were detained by the police and released the following day.

Normally, we would not address matters of this nature on social media. However, because the incident has received hundreds of thousands of views, we feel it is important to make a clear statement.

Our biggest disappointment has been the level of racist comments and unfair condemnation directed towards the African-American community.

We would like to state officially and unequivocally that Sugar Club Bangkok and Sugar Club Phuket consider African-American customers to be among our most decent, respectful, and kind customers.

In over 20 years of operating nightlife venues, we have never experienced a pattern of violence or serious trouble involving African-American customers in our clubs.

Recent comments unfairly portraying the African-American community as troublemakers in Thailand are completely incorrect based on our experience.

We want to put it clearly on record:

The African-American community is, and always will be, welcome in our venues.
