From humble beginnings in 1953 in what is now the hotel’s renowned Authors’ Wing, The Bamboo Bar grew in size and reputation to become an international legend. In late 2014, the bar closed for an extensive renovation, intended to propel this iconic establi

shment into the future whilst preserving its unique history and unique character. The beverage and liquor concept has been created by Mandarin Oriental’s award winning mixologist team, with Bamboo Bar Originals retaining their signature status on the cocktail list along with classics mixed according to their original recipes. The Bamboo Bar’s Flavour Cocktails are masterful blends of legacy and tradition yet with modernity and innovation and are set to become legends in their own right. For your comfort we offer smoking outside The Bamboo Bar from 9:30pm onwards or all day at The Cigar Terrace adjacent to Reception. Opening Hours: Through Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 11pm

Live Jazz: Through Tuesday to Saturday from 8pm to 10.45pm

The Bamboo Bar is a landmark that personifies the passion, seductive elegance and spirit of both The Oriental Hotel and Bangkok’s rich history.

From its humble beginning in 1953, The Bamboo Bar has grown in status and reputation to become a beloved Bangkok institution frequented by jazz lovers from around the world. Again in 2020 The Bamboo Bar was the top-rated bar in Thailand and one of Asia’s very best, now ranked No.7 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2020

The iconic spot was Bangkok's first jazz venue and retains a sensual, 1950s ambience. Drinks and cocktails are crafted by Mandarin Oriental’s award-winning mixologist team, including their signature cocktails alongside a ‘Compass’ cocktail menu which draws inspiration from Thailand’s five regions. Live bands and internationally-renowned singers perform nightly from 9pm (except Sunday).
