HAZY PALE ALE

**HAZY PALE ALE**
When we started thinking about making a Pale Ale, we wanted something with lower bitterness, lower alcohol, and easier drinkability — something that works well for sitting down and having a few at the bar. At the same time, we still wanted the hop aroma and flavor to stay as expressive as we like.
For us, Hazy doesn’t have to mean thick, sweet, or soft in every direction. We want enough body to support the beer, a finish that doesn’t feel heavy, and hop character that stays clear through the whole glass.
This one was dry hopped with **Cryo Simcoe, Nelson, DynaBoost Mosaic, and SubZero Hop Kief Riwaka**. The idea wasn’t to make every hop stand out at the same time, but to let them work together as one overall profile.
The SubZero Riwaka was especially interesting because the character we got was quite different from the Riwaka pellets we’re used to. It leaned more toward tropical fruit, passion fruit, and mandarin, with almost none of the diesel-like character we’ve sometimes found in certain pellet lots.
In the finished beer, the Riwaka doesn’t jump out as the lead character. Instead, it helps fill out the overall flavor and makes the hop profile feel fuller and rounder, which is actually what we prefer here.
In the end, this Hazy Pale is exactly what we wanted it to be — hop-forward, low in bitterness, lower in alcohol, easy to drink, and light enough that it never feels too heavy.
