BARKODE is a minimalistic bar and café sitting along the five-foot walkway of Little India whose fresh and raw design provides the ideal background to its chichi and innovative cocktails. Bursting with fresh fruits and rarely used ingredients such as egg whites and bitters, the cocktails are of a quality seldom seen in Singapore, let alone found in the bustling quarter of Little India. BARKODE wil
l have 12 cocktails of which 9 will change every three months to challenge the skills of the bartenders and taste buds of the customer. BARKODE is eager to revolutionise the local cocktail scene and wants to debunk the myth that a 10 second cocktail equals house pour and mixer; in a few seconds, a well-planned, carefully crafted fresh cocktail can be served. Adhering to its strict self-imposed standards of quality, BARKODE will serve top tier brands such as Ketel One, Johnny Walker Black Label, Corralejo and Flor De Cana as house pours. These will come in a perfect serve with a bottle of Fever Tree Botanical Mixer. Adding a touch of finesse to the beverage list are luxury and super-premium brands such as Uluvka, Martin Millers and Kauffman’s. At BARKODE, a sense of camaraderie is also encouraged. A feature of the bar would be the "Tumblers", special ready-to-enjoy one-of-a-kind cocktails served in a snazzy 500ml glass bottle (enough for 2 servings), chilled and bursting with freshness and flavor. In addition, there will be cocktail jugs that come in sizes which can be shared between 3 or 6 persons. Finger food will also be available to evoke the warm feeling of being at a friend’s house party. Of course, food and drink cannot be enjoyed without good company and BARKODE promises that even a party of one will not feel alone because only outgoing and engaging wait staff and bartenders will be found at this small but handsome bar. BARKODE walks the line of being niche and yet not restrictive, it believes that good products and brands can be shared with everyone, and who knows, you might even make a friend or two along the way.
