Jazz headz, we are so back! And we continue this season with our collaboration with Black Rhino Radio to showcase forward-thinking jazz artists who explore the intersection of different genres and cultures.

Following this path, we’re very happy to announce that keyboardist and producer Yoni Mayraz will open this season of ALT JAZZ, coming to Control on Monday, September 28, in a stellar trio format with Zoe Pascal on drums and Tom Driessler on bass.

Mayraz makes his Bucharest debut with Dogs Bark Babies Cry (PPK Records, 2025), threading ’90s hip-hop and Middle Eastern textures through the grooves of ’70s jazz-funk.

The artwork for the opening night of our anniversary is out. On Friday, October 2, two very different kinds of force share the live bill: ctrl18 LIVE: Liars [USA/AU], Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys [DE/SA]

Angus Andrew brings Liars back to Control, more than twenty-five years into a project that has treated genre as a temporary condition. Songs from the album due next year will make an early appearance.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys return as the counterweight. Kruger’s voice gives the night its soft power, while her latest lyrics test the symbols around us and the urge to slip free of them.

past self make their Romanian debut at Control this Wednesday, September 16, alongside TURM [RO]. A few things worth knowing about the Las Vegas trio before the show.

• For Sung, k-goth comes from a specific kind of alienation: being the only Korean in the alt scene and the only alt kid in Korean circles.
• Their newest single, “제물 / Jemul”, translates as “offering” and turns sacrifice into a metaphor for what society demands in exchange for belonging.
• “I Die: You Die” places their clean and icy gothic post-punk alongside Drab Majesty and Twin Tribes.

Tonight, we Walk the Night into the new season. Main guest Italo Deviance is a living archive, digging past the surface to find the soul of early Italo and beyond, surely displaying a lesson in dancefloor history. Moss Farai is in charge of the opening and closing honors, bringing the Manda Island mindset behind the decks, with selections ranging from cosmic, Balearic, percussive and forgotten dancefloor territories.

In the Front Room, Andreea Veder’s powerful, percussive preferences meet Claudia’s tasteful, genre-bending mischief. It's all about records, people, and living in the present moment.
