O Plano B, mais do que um bar, é um espaço interdisciplinar dividido por dois pisos e um conjunto de amplas divisões com diferentes atmosferas, ora sendo um espaço cultural com excelente condições para realização de exposições de artes plásticas, design e arquitectura, conferências, espetáculos de teatro, dança e performançe, ciclos de cinema e workshops, ora um espaço comercial com loja, b
ar e café de apoio, ou um espaço polivalente para concertos e clubbing desde o jazz ao rock passando pela electrónica ou música experimental. Nascido em Dezembro de 2006, o Plano B é um espaço que surgiu com o objectivo de dinamizar a zona da Baixa do Porto, criando um novo foco de cultura e animação. Do seu hall de entrada longo às cortinas vermelhas gigantes, este lugar grita Boho- Chic, estando repleto de sofás e poltronas todas diferentes, repleta de espelhos e objectos retro, convidando os clientes a apreciarem um ambiente descontraído, relaxado, ecléctico e dinâmico. Candelabros ornamentados e candeeiros de um estilo peculiar, ajudam a perceber que estamos num local despojado e que é aqui que a boémia cool portuense convive. O espaço divide-se em dois pisos e três salas com música, tendo em cima uma galeria e cafetaria/bar com DJ (e internet wireless grátis), e em baixo uma sala Palco destinada a concertos e a sala Cubo, voltada para música electrónica e que está apta para receber DJs, live acts e video jamming. Aos Sábados o espaço abre durante a tarde com uma apurada selecção de produtos nacionais de qualidade tais como vinhos, queijos, compotas, chás entre outras iguarias. Pelo Plano B já passaram bandas e artistas como Teengirl Fantasy, Popnoname, Nisennenmondai, Thieves Like Us, Toro Y Moi, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffitti, Tits of Death, Glass Candy, Desire, Yacht, Telepathe, Taylor McFerrin, Alice
Russell, James Pants, Jubilee, XXYYXX, The Stepkids, Silverio, Nite Jewel, El Guincho, Kap Bambino, Crystal Antlers, The Oh Sees, entre outros, para além de nomes nacionais como The Legendary Tigerman, Buraka Som Sistema, X-Wife, Os Golpes, Black Bombaim, ou até mesmo Sean Riley and The Slowriders. Plano B is, more than a club, an interdisciplinary venue split over two floors and a series of large rooms with different atmospheres, being a cultural area with excellent conditions for holding exhibitions of visual arts, design and architecture, conferences, theatre, dance and performance, film series and workshops, as well as it can shift into a commercial space with capacity to hold a shop with cafe and bar support, or a multipurpose space to host concerts and clubnights, from jazz to rock, electronic and experimental music. Founded in December 2006, Plano B is a space that emerged with the aim of boosting the downtown area of Porto, creating a new focus for culture and entertainment. From its long entrance hall to the giant red curtains at the door, the place oozes Boho-Chic, being filled with mismatched couches, retro mirrors and objects, inviting the customers into a chilled, friendly, eclectic and dynamic atmosphere. The space is divided on two floors and three rooms with music, taking up a gallery in the front, a tall-ceilinged café / bar (with free wireless access) in the back, and below a cosy downstairs where DJs and live bands hold court with a room designed to stage concerts and a cube room dedicated to electronic music, able to receive DJs, live acts and video jamming. On Saturdays, the space opens up in the afternoon with a refined selection of quality domestic products such as wines, cheeses, jams, teas and other delicacies. Plano B is also responsible for organizing the Mercadinho dos Clérigos, street market that has been going on since 2007 at Rua Cândido dos Reis and that happens usually once or twice a month.
