20 years ago, in the faraway land of Middle-Earth, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was released.

To celebrate the history behind the adventure, Wētā Workshop has dusted off the keys and opened the vault to unleash the memorable armour and props from the films.

It’s a real honour for us here at the Embassy to become the hosts to a real piece of movie history – an authentic suit of armour worn by a Second Age Elf in the battle against Sauron.

Located in the Black Sparrow bar, this suit is part of a collection of items that are located all around the city for you and your fellowship to adventure to. We hope you enjoy the experience and are as excited as we are to witness the incredible costumes first-hand.

Suns out, birds are presumably chirping, but we work in a dungeon underneath the Embassy. Come by and see us for a cocktail on this laziest of days.

This is the ‘Parlez-Vous’, a classy little number consisting of brandy, blackberry liqueur, apple and lemon.

Lazy sundays call for lazy menu updates. We’ve just finished working on our December cocktails, and we’re excited to get you guys trying them next month!

We’ll be running the current menu for one more weekend until it’s gone forever! So if you’re looking to try the Alfador, 2300, Masamune, Dinosaurus or Zeal, it’s your last weekend to do so!

Back open today until Sunday night, can’t wait to sling out some drinks to you lot! This is the ‘Masamune’, which uses a smoky lapsang infused jinro, some green chartreuse and some celery tonic to create a drink worthy of that lil’ frog dude right there on the Jinro bottle.

Fun fact - I also have him tattood on myself.

Sunday’s call for tequila, and this drink is basically a refreshing breakfast - ‘Zeal’, a blend of blood orange tequila, lime, demerara sugar and dry curacao.

Ideal for this one sunny day we’ve had in the past month.
