What an incredible ride. To see all of you wonderful regulars and staff come from all parts of the world and country, fly in, drive for hours and come join us for one last drink.

This has been 14 years of community, love and friendships that this little bar in Pōneke has cultivated.

Thanks you for giving us the biggest night ever! One we didn't dream possible. It was the best way to celebrate and send off Crumpet.

Thank you Shan, Yadana and Maxim for DJing and giving us the vibes last night. It's pretty magical to have your child give you the best send off.

Thank you to the staff past and present for being family. There is so much said in your presence last night and messages from all over.

And thank you to all of the lovely customers over the years. Crumpet has been such a moment for so many people. So many first dates, so many friendships, so many blessings.

It's sad news that we announce Crumpet’s last day of trading will be Saturday 28/3/2026. What an adventure we’ve had over the last 14 years.

In March 2012, baby in tow, Crumpet was opened in a little corner of the Opera House. During this time we have watched people grow, dear friendships, relationships blossom and have had wild encounters with people from all walks of life, from across the world and had many wonderful conversations.

We’ve had some very special people walk into our lives because of this cosy little bar, and I’m grateful Dan has joined me for the journey. Crumpet has given us life long friendships and memories. The kind you take with you through life and people you call family.

We have had to come to this decision for more than one reason, one of which being the situation with the building and our lease. But this also gives us the capacity to focus on new aspirations and career paths and build on our next chapter.

Thank you so much Pōneke for letting us be part of the landscape. We’ve been blessed to have shared the journey with this wonderful community

Come say hi and bye to Dan, Ethan, Davey and myself. Give us a hug! And enjoy your last bevy at Crumpet.

Thank you so much everyone who came and drank a Pegu Club at Crumpet in the two weeks we had the fundraiser we sold 151 Pegu Clubs in our wee cocktail bar and had a few cash contributions from some of our lovely customers. This total came to $515 USD / $860 NZD which we have just donated to this money will go towards aid, food, water and recovery for the earthquake affected areas in Myanmar.

This earthquake has been deeply personal to our Mabel’s whānau, we thank you all for your support. Marlar will be organising more fundraisers if you want to know more keep posted via
