Om Brian Brody og Matt Hanaphy's Rack & ruins:
Described as "raw and exciting", and blending their combined experience of many styles of music, they
create a distinctive and edgy sound rooted in Irish traditional music and song.
Rack&Ruins have already completed concert tours in Ireland, Switzerland and Italy, where they played
the prestigious Triskell International Celtic Festival in Trieste.
The unique Rack&Ruins sound is made up frontman, guitarist and vocalist Brian Brody and multi-
instrumentalist Matt Hanaphy on guitar, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle and vocals.
Rack&Ruins have received many comparisons, the most regular of which would be The Pogues,
Makem&Clancy and even The Dubliners, but with a fresh contemporary feel to their music.
Rack&Ruins also perform some classic traditional Irish songs, putting their own unique identity on
them.
With 3 albums under their belt within 18 months and a 4th album in the works, Rack&Ruins show no
sign of slowing down or resting.
Rack&Ruins collaborations so far include writing and performing with Neo-folk band ROME on their
album 'The Dublin Sessions' and also a live performance with Italian folk legends Modena City Ramblers
in Dublin's O***m venue
Vocalist Brian Brody says, "Rack&Ruins believe that modern Irish folk music has the potential to
reach a wider and younger audience. We want to perform exciting new original Irish music and bring
something new to the scene"
