-PART THREE-

The Story of a Man Who Contracted His Friend Back home to bring "Ocha Ere" to Lagos for him so that he can punish his neighbour who doesn't like him Where They do Business Together...

(This is a true life story that happened between two Ubakala brothers but the names/pictures herein are fictitious)

As the bus Onyemauwa was travelling with approached the River Niger Bridge, he became jittery and uncomfortable because he is being pricked by his conscience of what Onyegbule will think about him as a friend if he finds out that the powder he was coming with wasn't the real OCHA ERE Charm.

The traffic gridlock at the ASABA end of the River Niger Bridge delayed their movement to Lagos but they had to continue the trip after about five hours delay.

It was getting dark and the hope of getting to Lagos before dusk became clearly unachievable. Onyemauwa kept praying to God not to let his childhood friend realise that what he was coming with was not real.

At a point Onyemauwa started thinking aloud and the other passengers began to suspect if he was mentally unstable. Onyemauwa's fear was basically how he will be asked to repay the N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) that Onyegbule gave to him for the OCHA ERE contract.

Onyemauwa looked outside the window and saw a bold notice by the road side "WELCOME TO ORE" and as they got to a bridge, the driver lost control and their bus plunged into the river if not for the help of the barricades by the side of the bridge.

People were heard shouting:-

Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ!!

We shall not die!

We shall not die!

Passengers started praying and crying for help while other vehicles aligned along the road and the scene became frightening.

Onyemauwa who just regained consciousness screamed at the top of his voice:-

"CHINEKEEEE , ODUDUGHU EZIGBOTE OCHA ERE O BU OOOOO !"-----

PAPA EEEEE, I GWAKWARU M AGWA AGALA OOO!

AWUFUDURU M YA AWUFU OOOOO!!!

EGBUDULE M OOO....!

He kept on shouting and screaming which attracted other passengers to ask him questions of what was really wrong with him.

With the fear of what his late father told him in the dream that he will not live to tell the story if he travels to Lagos with the OCHA ERE powder against the principles of their family business, Onyemauwa explained his ordeal and allegedly confessed to the other passengers that it is like he is the cause of the accident.

When the other passengers heard it , they threw Onyemauwa out of the bus and when the bus was brought out of the River the following morning, they continued the journey without Onyemauwa.

Onyemauwa who was now filled with regrets couldn't find his bag neither could he find the fake cup of OCHA ERE Powder he was travelling with.. He sobbed and cried like a baby..

Now, Onyemauwa has lost his bag and as well lost even the Fake Ocha-Ere....No money to continue the journey and no one is ready to help him since he confessed to have been the cause of the accident.

Hello Sir, what are you doing in this lonely road and where are you going to, asked a man who was travelling from Benin to Lagos with his family. Onyemauwa in a low tone told the man that he was travelling to Lagos and that his bus left him while he was sleeping inside the bush.

The man had pity on Onyemauwa and asked him to come in and around 2pm , they arrived Lagos.

Onyemauwa got to Onyegbule's house with the help of the address that Onyegbule gave him in the Village.

Joyous Onyegbule rushed out of his house and embraced his friend who just arrived and immediately Onyemauwa entered the parlour, Onyegbule asked him....

"ENYI DUGHU OCHA ERE M?"...........

Onyemauwa stood speechless and .......

It was a night before the day Onyemauwa will travel to Lagos to deliver the "OCHA ERE" charm which his friend Onyegbule ordered for.

Onyemauwa packed his cloths inside a bag and kept it at a corner where he can easily pick it the following morning when leaving.

Meanwhile, Onyemauwa has packaged the white powedered "OCHA ERE" inside a cup which he kept on the table beside his bed.

While he slept and snored with the hope of waking up very early , his late father appeared to him in the dream with canes and started flogging him mercilessly.

While he was being flogged in the dream by his late father, Onyemauwa was heard shouting by his neighbours :-

"anwuola m oooo!"

"Papa eeehh, !"

"Anula m ooooo!"

"Agaghim iji ya aga ooo!"

"Papa Ndo oooooo!"......

Quickly, Onyemauwa hurriedly woke up and ran out of the house where he beheld the crowd of neighbours who were trying to forcibly open the door before he rushed out of the house with wounds and stripes of blood all over his body.

Onyemauwa's uncle , Dee Umejuonu asked him what he was battling with inside his room but Onyemauwa who was already crying told him the truth of how he was contracted by his friend to bring "OCHA ERE" to Lagos and how he went to ORIE NTIGHA MARKET and bought the NSHI "OCHA ERE" which he kept beside his bed.

Onyemauwa further told his uncle that his father appeared in his dreams and started flogging him and warning him not to derail from the good principles he left for him in the family Herbalism business.

His late father in the dream also warned him not to go to Lagos with the OCHA ERE charm to and that if he does , that he will not live to tell the story.

Now, Dee Umejuonu the uncle having heard all that Onyemauwa narrated , advised him to throw the OCHA ERE powder away and rather pour ordinary powder into the cup and go to Lagos just to justify the money he has already collected and Onyemauwa immediately went inside his room picked the cup of the OCHA ERE powder and poured it inside their pit toilet.

As soon as that was done, he pleaded with his younger sister to give him some white talcum powder which he poured inside the cup and he immediately left for Lagos that morning..

It is already 12noon and their bus which he joined at Umuahia Town has just passed Upper Iweka Bridge at Onitsha and was heading to the Niger bridge.......

In one of the then villages (Now Communities) in Ubakala, Onyemauwa and Onyegbule grew up together as very close friends from childhood.

While Onyegbule left the village after their Secondary School to live with his uncle who later enrolled him where he learnt a trade in Lagos, Onyemauwa joined his father in their long-standing family Traditional Herbalism business in the village...

When Onyemauwa's father died, he succeeded him in the Herbalism business which was basically for giving orthodox medicine to the sick and evil spirit possessed patients who usually come to patronise them.

One day Onyegbule visited the village and the two friends were seen always together and the memories of their long friendship came to the reminiscence of the villagers with great likeness but to the ignorance of the onlookers in the village, Onyegbule came to see his friend for something uncommon and evil.

After one of their hang-outs at Apumiri Market on one of the good days, Onyegbule told Onyemauwa that there is a problem that brought him back to the village and that it is only him 'Onyemauwa' that can solve it for him since he is into Traditional Medicine Practice.

Now, to let the cat out of the bag, Onyegbule requested that Onyemauwa swears that he will not reveal whatever he tells him to anybody which Onyemauwa accepted.

'I want you to get an -NSHI-(poison) and come to Lagos and help me pay my wicked neighbour back in the language he understands', says Onyegbule to Onyemauwa.

Onyemauwa shouted at his friend and told him that he was not trained to do evil with his profession but for old friends sake and having heard that someone is maltreating his old time friend where they do business together in Lagos, Onyemauwa obliged and asked his friend the type of -NSHI- (Poison) he wants him to bring to Lagos for him and Onyegbule answered that "OCHA ERE" (Elephantiasis) will be better.

How do we get the -OCHA ERE- , asked Onyemauwa whose family is not known for doing evil with their Traditional Medicine practice but for friendship sake he has accepted to derail from the family intergrity and prestige.(that's what friendship can cause atimes though).

As days went bye, Onyegbule kept disturbing Onyemauwa on how fast he wants the Ocha-Ere to be brought to Lagos so that he can at least retaliate the wickedness his neighbour has been showing him .

Onyemauwa made some inquiries and heard that he can buy the -OCHA ERE- from ORIE NTIGHA Market. He told his friend that price of buying the OCHA ERE from NTIGHA is just N100( One Hundred Naira), but the Friend agreed to give him N200,000 (Two Hundred Naira) for his transportation to Lagos and all logistics for his NSHI TRIP to Lagos....

The two friends having agreed when Onyemauwa will bring the OCHA ERE to Lagos, travelled back to go and wait for his NSHI contract to come to Lagos.....

The day has come and Onyemauwa has gone to ORIE NTIGHA Market and bought the NSHI OCHA ERE which came in a white powdered form and some strict avoidances....

But on the day Onyemauwa was meant to travel to Lagos with the -OCHA ERE-,something spectacular happened....
