Why name Lampedusa? The southernmost possession of Italy got its name from the word "lampo " because of frequent lightning . From 1865th to 1905th fishermen from Stari Grad had a base for permanent
fishing in southwestern Mediterranean . 14 large sailing ships from Stari Grad took part in these ventures, from the place in front of the bar brave and enterprising people set off on a long and uncertain journey, in the end many of those brave people stayed and lived on the island till the end of their lives. The name of this bar honors these brave men.
