💥ALED’S BIRTHDAY MENU TONIGHT FROM 5PM-LATE!

Wait, who’s ? Our token Welshy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 & Shady’s GM. And what’s happening? It’s his Celtic birthday bash 🎈 at Shady’s from 5pm with wintery, Celtic inspired cocktails, his favourite bevvies, tunes & dishes to go with them.

THE DRINKS 🪩

We asked Aled to create his dream menu and here it is. Whiskey based because that by far, is his favourite spirit. Traditionally a Gaelic spirit, that translates from Gaelic to ‘the water of life’. Expect boozy, warming and delicious cocktails tonight!

BOBBY BURT’S 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
10 yr, D.O.M benedictine, sweet vermouth, amaretto

^ A spin on the classic. ‘The Bobby Burns’, named about Scottish poet, Robert Burns, who shares the same birthday! This drink uses a personal favourite combo of flavours: benedictine, sweet vermouth & whiskey. 
RIBENA COSMOPOLITAN 🍇
Vodka, elderflower liqueur, Ribena syrup, cranberry juice, lemon

^ Everything that he (and we) love about this industry. A ‘90s disco classic made fun with Ribena syrup. Growing up, hot Ribena was a staple for Aled (us here in HK too!), something that he’d enjoy after football. Being able to put Ribena into one of the greatest party drinks of all time is his dream.

PENICILLIN 🥃
10 yr, blended scotch, honey & ginger syrup, lemon, candied syrup

^ A great beverage that reminds him of home. It’s warming, sweet and just all round good for the soul. A drink that reminds him of cold, wintery nights in Wales - and based on Aled’s dad’s favourite drink, a Hot Toddy.

SCOFFEE ☕️
10 yr, blended scotch, chestnut, coffee, nutmeg, cream

^ Based on an Irish coffee, and one of the first cocktails Aled learnt how to make. A cocktail he loves everything about, with close memories of home for him, he just had to put it on the menu.

HARD SLUSHIE - HAWAII 5-0 🏝️
A combo between 2 classics - a Miami Vice with a Blue Hawaii. A fantastically silly disco drink that tastes amazing frozen, even when it’s 7 degrees out. Ask the team for more info!

We would be lying if we didn’t feel the city fall a little quieter this January. You might still be recovering from Christmas, doing dry-Jan or new-year-new-me, or you’re saving up for Chinese New Year, because that’s getting scarily close again. 👀

We’ve seen a few of your faces at Shady more than a few times the past few weeks, but it’s never enough.

You don’t have to wait until the next long weekend to enjoy a cheeky tipple. We’ve got snacks, an burger sizzling on the grill, fine wines 🍷 and rivers of booze with non-alcoholic options too.

It’s been almost 2 years since we launched our magical 2021 Underdog Rosé ✨ with .

Bright nectar of the sunlight gods held together by water, poetically described by its creator and the team at Deep Woods in Margaret River, Western Australia 🇦🇺. Rosé made just for Shady’s — now that’s pretty dam special.

No fancy pretentious wine notes for the Underdog , beyond that it’s bottled sunlight that tastes like happiness, featuring bespoke artwork by our talented friend, .russell.

Loved by many and a happiness we get to share with all you folks. 💕

Easy to drink, and available daily for happy hour too for just $50, that includes weekend! Come for a glass or order a bottle to enjoy here or at home. It is January after all, and we all need some sunlight in our lives. ☀️

2023 had its ups and downs, and the biggest up was Hong Kong 🇭🇰 being truly ‘free’ again.

Another year has almost come and gone, another one which we’re grateful for you kind hearted, thirsty and hungry folks for allowing Shady to be here. Every ounce of support from our community during this tumultuous, eye-watering time as our home continues to rebuild.

Thank you for taking care of us and to our squad for doing all that they do.

We’ve had an absolute hoot getting all festive with you this month at our special Shady Gingerhaus — thank you so much for celebrating the holidays with us. ❤️

The Gingerhaus is closed today (25 Dec) to give our team a well-deserved rest and time with friends and loved ones. The Gingerhaus will be lit up again from tomorrow onwards with your Boxing Day mulled wines 🍷 and more special cocktails. 😮‍💨

It’s be-‘GIN’-ing to look a lot like Christmas at Shady Acres! That’s right. is teaming up with to bring the funky monkey vibes to Peel Street again, and this year, in the form of a life size gingerbread house with... SHADY’S GINGERHAUS! 🐒

In the spirit of this festive mash-up, the have curated an exclusive list of special food & drink to encourage some merriment & jolly good times. Enjoy the limited edition menu with Monkey 47 cocktails inspired by your favorite Christmas songs, a traditional Mulled Wine 🍷 to keep you feeling warm and fuzzy, and of course, Shady’s signature hard-slushy, with rotating flavours such as Eggnog, Figgy Toffee Pudding and more.

And because it’s the time of the year to indulge, feast on the Christmas Burger special with creamy Camembert, rocket & cranberry mayo and the Sweet Baby Cheesus Board with a mix of soft, hard & blue cheese with trimmings.

Due to this festive glow-up, Shady’s is CLOSED TODAY (20 Nov) and will reopen 21 Nov from 5pm with normal service.
