We have news, and the sensible version of us has asked us to break it gently.

In 2023 the two of us left Berlin for the south coast of Crete with a plan that fit in one sentence: a few houses by the sea, done properly. It worked. People came back, which is the only review that counts. Thank you — for that, and for following two people rather than a logo, which is what made this account worth keeping.

Then we fell in love. With a bar. On the beach at Kato Stalos. It came with a captain, an island, and a lantern that gets lit every hour, on the hour, for whoever hasn't come home yet — a story we didn't write and couldn't have. The film above tells it. We just get to keep the hour.

Yes: this is what happens when two people who left Berlin for a few houses by the sea find out they weren't done. The villas, we'll tell you about when we know. The bar opens in March.

Better chase a maybe than leave a maybe behind. The captain lived by it. It's what got us from Berlin to the beach, and now from the beach to the bar.

Between the olive-covered hills of Plakias, Preveli and the wild coastline of South Crete, Sto Lofo and Aitherion were created for a slower kind of stay.
Quiet mornings with views across the valley towards mountains and the Libyan Sea. Long lunches under shaded terraces. Evenings where the last light settles over the endless horizon.

We are very happy to welcome both villas to the STAYS collection — and even happier to see how quickly guests connected with them. Their first season is already close to fully booked.

These images are also a reminder of something we often tell property owners: photography is not an afterthought in short-term rentals. It is one of the most important investments you can make — right alongside the house itself and, dare we say it, the people managing it. Before guests experience a villa physically, they experience it emotionally through images.

That is exactly why we love working with Nikos Fragomanolakis.

Not only because he creates stunning listing photography, but because he sees spaces differently. His work captures atmosphere instead of just angles. Warmth instead of sterile perfection. The quiet character of a home, the softness of evening light, the feeling of being there.

And beyond the camera, where is is an artist, he is simply one of our favourite people to collaborate with.

Keras Cliff House, one of the residences we support, has been recognised at the Tourism Awards 2026 with a Silver distinction in the category VIP & Luxury Experience.

The award reflects a holistic approach to hospitality — where architecture, landscape, and service are experienced as a continuous whole.

Designed by Tzagarakis & Associates, the residence engages with its surroundings through a precise architectural language and a strong relationship with the landscape of South Crete.

Our role is often less visible, but essential in shaping how these spaces are lived: from preparation and guest experience to the quiet orchestration behind each stay.

We’re proud to contribute to environments that are recognised not only for how they look, but for how they are experienced.

From first contact to final shoot, this project was brought to life by The Grove Crete.

The Poliform Outdoor Collection 2026 brought an international production to the south coast of Crete, with Keras Cliff House as one of its locations.

Working behind the scenes, we coordinated the process, managed the logistics, and ensured the entire production unfolded seamlessly on site.
