The Sound of Burger Disco Club: More than a sound system; a journey over three decades in the making.
Known today as the Cariocas Soundsystem, this custom-built installation has become the sonic signature of Burger Disco Club. Rather than following industry trends, it was developed piece by piece through years of careful pairing, tuning, and real dancefloor experience. Built for people who truly listen, the system was not created overnight.
Its story began in 1998 through years of experimentation, listening, and refinement at Cariocas Beach Bar, and later through Odyssia Festival. Every upgrade, component, and adjustment became part of a long pursuit of authentic sound.
Designed for the dancefloor, Cariocas Beach Bar served as the system’s original platform, with every detail dedicated to one purpose: making music feel alive. Natural materials—wood, paper, handcrafted speaker cabinets, and custom crossovers—deliver warm lows, natural mids, detailed highs, and breathtaking headroom. Every record is meant to be experienced, not just heard.
March 3, 2024: Moving into the city.
Burger Disco Club opens its doors for the first time, and from day one the Cariocas Soundsystem becomes the heart of its sound.
An intimate underground space where dining, cocktails, listening bar culture, and late-night dancing come together around one idea: Music deserves to sound extraordinary.
Built by ear, not by spec sheets, the goal was never simply to play louder. The goal was to create emotion through sound.
The system combines:
• Custom-built Bill Pal loudspeaker cabinets
• Bespoke Bill Pal speaker configurations
• Carefully selected Japanese and US-made amplifiers
• Bozak Integral Sound rotary mixers
• Decades of continuous fine-tuning
A System Trusted by Legends
Throughout its evolution, the Cariocas Soundsystem has welcomed artists including Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Louie Vega, Ron Trent, Joe Claussell, DJ Harvey, Kerri Chandler, Carl Craig, Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Omar S, Palms Trax, Prins Thomas, Danilo Plessow, Ivan Smagghe, Felix Dickinson, and many more.
The Philosophy
Technology matters. But when it comes to building a strong community, listening matters
