One of the only edibles around at this time that prefers cold temperatures.

Picked, cleaned, chopped and sautéed in butter and garlic.

Found in Borsdane Woods growing on deciduous deadwood.

Delicious 😋

⚠️never consume any species you're not 100% certain about. I spent at least 20 minutes reading up in books on this mushroom, looking at its cap, stem and gills, watching videos etc. Before I was fully confident to go ahead and eat it.

Setting...

New Years Resolutions are BANNED in this space!

Instead, I will be lighting a fire and holding a simple intention setting ceremony tonight.

I'll be sharing my process later on my stories. It's a nod to days gone by when fire was central to feral folks' lives, a symbol of energy, celebration, purification, transformation, and protection.

As I say goodbye to 2025, I want to reflect on everything that's happened, good and bad, and say hello to 2026 in the most natural way possible...with a few s'mores thrown in for good measure too 😉🤣
