I first heard this record at Top of the World in Stafford and I knew It was going to be a hit. I went to Valentino, s in Bloxwich Walsall to buy it back in 1978, I have owned it ever since. Written by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, the inspiration for this was after they were refused entry to Studio 54 nightclub on New years eve 1977. Thank you to them for this Disco Classic.

Look what I found in my cupboard yesterday, Young hearts run free by Candi Staton, I remember buying this single record in 1976 for 80p from Woolworths in Bloxwich Walsall. This still plays as well as when I bought it.

I may be old and lived through the 1960s 1970s 1980s but we lived a life that the youth of today will never ever see. The smoky big room of the social clubs was an experience in itself, everyone knew each other, the artistes that performed there were class entertainment . This was our first experience as children to see how the adults socialised and it was brilliant, all the men in their crisp suits, white shirt and tie and the ladies in their lovely dresses. The smell of Brylcreem and cologne mingling with the after shave of a bygone age, Hai Karate, Old Spice, Brut, those are what I remember but I'm sure there were many more. I will never forget those days, will you?
