Wadebridge… are you ready?

After the buzz of the Royal Cornwall Show, we’re turning the energy all the way up at Rhubarb & Bloom Cocktail Lounge for a full-throttle night of TECHNO • DNB • HARD DANCE.

From 7PM – 1AM, expect nothing but high energy, big tunes, and proper vibes as we bring the sound, the lights, and the atmosphere you don’t want to miss.

What a way to step into another year around the sun.

Thanks to my amazing husband Nick… thank you for completely surprising me and going behind the scenes organising friends, laughs, memories and one hell of a birthday. You honestly pulled it out the bag, Sea Shanties in the afternoon and DJ's in the evening ☠️ 🎧

At 45, I’m learning life isn’t about slowing down — it’s about having the right people around you, making memories louder, laughing harder and loving deeper. I feel incredibly lucky, very loved, and very grateful for every message, video, photo, hug and drink shared with me over the last few days ❤️

💘 Friday 26th June is our next speed dating night 💘

We are excited to host in this stunning, relaxing cocktail lounge bar Rhubarb & Bloom! Treat yourself to a delicious cocktail whilst you meet and connect with other singles.

How it works;

Ticket holders to arrive between 6pm and 6.45pm. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail, or beer or wine, as you chat to fellow daters, and settle in before the first bell rings at 7pm.

🛎 For the speed dating segment;

Ladies stay seated, Gentlemen rotate when the bell rings! You get five minutes per date, up to fourteen dates each! Plus mingling opportunities throughout, with intervals in between for toilet breaks and a drink top up.

Fill in your matchcard as you go, simply write your date's name and indicate if you want to see them again. Hand in your completed matchcards to the host before you leave the venue.

💌 After the Event;

Match results will be emailed the following day, including phone numbers for mutual matches. Who makes the next move?That’s entirely up to you…

💘 Rhubarb & Bloom’s First Speed Dating Night 💘

What a night…and what a way to kick things off.

Our very first speed dating event at Rhubarb & Bloom was nothing short of a success — and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd. A room full of fresh faces, great energy, and genuinely lovely people made the whole evening feel effortless from start to finish.

A huge shoutout to our fab host, Rebecca from Cornish Speed Dating, who ran the night perfectly — keeping things relaxed, fun, and flowing exactly as they should. She made everyone feel at ease from the moment they walked in.

From those first nervous hellos to the laughter flowing between rounds, the vibe quickly turned into something really special. Connections were made, confidence grew, and the atmosphere was exactly what Rhubarb is all about — relaxed, welcoming, and full of good people.

It was so well received by everyone who came along, and it’s safe to say… this won’t be the last 👀

🎧 TODAY AT RHUBARB 🎧

Today we did something a little different… and it was something special.

We opened the doors and welcomed in a group of young, curious minds for our DJ workshop — and from the moment they stepped behind the decks, the energy completely shifted.

No nerves for long...just excitement.

Watching them figure it out, press the buttons, mix their first tracks, and actually hear what they were creating — that was the moment it clicked. Confidence grew with every beat.

There were smiles, a few surprised faces when mixes actually worked, and that buzz you only get when someone realises “I can do this.”

At Rhubarb, it’s not always about the nights out - sometimes it’s about creating opportunities, giving people a space to try something new, and letting creativity lead.

Today was about that.

And after today… we’re only just getting started.

Next one will fill fast 🎧🔥
