We’ve already told you there was another Stretford collaboration waiting in the wings.

And this one’s a biggun.

On Saturday 4th July, & crew will be putting on their best-pressed suits to launch the first in a new programme of day-to-nite shebeens at one of Stretford’s most discreetly iconic local institutions -

The bowling green.
The function room.
The bar.
The carpets.
The hum of a proper social club.

Following the joy, the raffles and the deep local warmth of the Nite School x Metro’s Gala at (BIG LOVE TO ALL OF YOU WHO JOINED US ♥️), we all knew this one couldn’t be left as a one-off…

Expect music inside and out, bowling green involvement, street food, workshops, social club energy, summer madness, proper drinks, familiar faces, unexpected guests and The Brokers doing what The Brokers do best…

Turning up somewhere deeply familiar and inviting you all over for a bloody nice time.

But trust us when we say this one is going to be a one to remember… with friends from both very near and very very far joining us across three spaces of music.

Ahead of the full announcement of the first party in our long-term collaboration with our neighbours & friends at on Saturday 4th July, we had a lovely chat with the brilliant folk over at about Nite School, Metro’s, and the dream of a new social life of Stretford.

The piece looks at why this partnership is bigger than finding a room to make some noise in.

Metro’s has been part of Stretford’s social fabric for more than a century, with its bowling green, function room, bar, members, stories and rituals already firmly in place.

For us, this is about joining forces with what already exists and finding new ways to bring it to life.

Metro’s brings deep local roots. Nite School brings DIY dance culture, curation, artists, dancers… and bad bad puns.

Together, we’re hoping to build something practical, respectful and properly Stretford (and have tonnes of fun along the way)

📣 STRETFORD ANNOUNCEMENT #1 ☝️

🌙 Nite School x Fountain Records 💿
Launching: Late Nite In-Store Sessions

📅 Saturday 6th June
5pm til midnight

We are very pleased to announce that we are linking up with Stretford mainstay and vinyl treasure trove, .

Launching on 6th June, this will be the first instalment of a brand new special series of intimate, afternoon-til-late, vinyl-focused in-store sessions. ♥️

We’ll be kicking off with selections throughout the day to soundtrack the usual operation of Stretford’s digging haven.

Then, come closing time, the shop becomes the dancefloor as & co. turn the lights down REALLLL low and start slinging their most intergalactic finds, many of them discovered among Fountain’s own seemingly bottomless racks.

These parties will be very intimate and all about locking in, pushing the boundaries and experimenting a little. We’ll be bringing good friends and selectors from near and far into one of Stretford’s best-loved independent music-focused spaces.

Expect after-hours tomfoolery, surprise curveballs and a few unexpected guests along the way.

Part record shop gathering, part pop-up bar, part neighbourhood knees-up, part excuse to stand around chatting nonsense about music until somebody has to lock the door.

Whatever this is, all we know is that Stretford will do it with serious f**kin’ gusto. 💛

*** THE FIRST 20 ticket buyers will receive a FREE copy of Nite School’s most questionable printed output, Pawn Magazine, to be collected on the night. What you do with it afterwards is your own business…

Last September, we had spent months planning what was not only the biggest, but also (for a variety of reasons) the most challenging shabeen that we’d ever organised.

We knew it was somewhat audacious to host Bicep in an abandoned Boots in the Stretford Arndale… but we were on track for it actually going ahead!

SO MUCH LOVE to all of you beautiful people who wandered over to for the big x ALFOS day-to-nite party yesterday 🫶

Seeing all the dancers and freakazoids of two proper underground institutions come together in one place was a bloody nice enough sight to behold…

… But seeing so many familiar faces holding down our own sleaze dipped little corner of it all, was frankly PRICELESS. 💷💎♥️

Top drawer sets (as always) from Hardway Bros .dj & .male across the day and into the night at .mcr n’all. PHWOAR. 🥵

Beautiful people. Beautiful music. Beautiful spaces. ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you to everyone who came over, stayed for a dance, had a chat, bought something, smiled at us, or just helped make it feel like a little home from home for & while we’re still feeling tender about our pawnbrokers-in-the-Arndale getting bulldozed. 🚧

have been facing an interesting question of late.

A question that just over 12 months ago, they never imagined they’d have to answer:

Where do you go when your pawnbrokers-come-nightclub meets its demise, via a wrecking ball?

But one thing we know is that the people of Stretford make unbelievable things happen.

We’ve not even scratched the surface.

A full mini-doc by .film , documenting one particularly wet night in the Stretford Arndale back in September, will be made available in the coming days.

🌙 Trust the Nite 🌙

Stretford Mall’s demolition has officially begun & our good friend Mike (head of security), shared with us this scene.

We decided to write a poem.

PAWN IS IN THE HEART - An ode to All Nite Pawn
by Brokersshutters are knackered,
the signage; all cracked,
the Mall is set to be flattened,
and that, good friends, is that.

In the ‘brokers: no gold remains,
no watches and no chains,
just vibrations in the brickwork
and beer in the drains.

Here once stood a pawnbrokers,
that became a portal by the nite,
half a centre for the community,
half an admin oversight.

Our dancefloor here in Stretford,
misbehaving in this shop,
it was a dream held together
with gaffer tape on top.

There were trolleys of lager,
and speakers up on wheels,
there were strange little moments,
and many bizarre deals.

3 generations of one family,
DJs wearing clogs,
old mall romantics
lots of late-nite prog.

In the green room; the strangest scene
Mr Blobby and Rugrat themed,
a dentist chair there waited
but somehow nobody screamed.

By day a crowd looked in
for a ring or a loan,
by night they all found rhythm,
the sweat, the smoke; a home.

Security Mike keeping watch each night
kept Stretford’s anomaly intact,
whilst The Brokers; they dealt nonsense,
in place of verifiable fact.

No refunds. No credit.
No discernible game plan.
Just a room full of good people,
doing what only good people can.

Because a dancefloor can happen
wherever you start,
be it a club, or a car park,
or the Stretford Arndale’s heart.

So goodbye to the counter,
the carpet, the white collar ‘crime’
the chintz & sleazy furniture,
it’s all lost now to time.

Walk by, recall the Mall each day,
her late nite cinematic gloom,
along with neon-lit kids rides,
remember a hearty 808 boom.

The walls might turn to rubble,
and the shutters they might fall,
but what can’t ever be demolished
are the memories inside us all.

Gone but not gone.
Done but not done.
All Nite Pawn, the dancers, the staff,
you’re all beautiful wrong’uns.

Pawn is in the heart our friends,
It’s a state of mind.
Trust the Nite, it’ll all be ‘rite
New doors open all the time.
