Did you know today is 'International Disc Jockey Day?!' Well at Wi******er Radio, we thought it was a great opportunity to share with you more about our longest serving volunteer - the wonderful Tony Knight!

Tony has been volunteering and supporting patients at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital since the 1970s, and was one of the founder members of the hospital radio here in Wi******er - in 1984. He's been actively involved with the charity throughout his time with us, and helps out in lots of ways - as a presenter, with community reporting, doing interviews, features, editing, photography for the charity, and fundraising activities.

Here are 5 things which Tony shares are important to him and bring him joy in life:
Peace, music, volunteering at Wi******er Radio, meeting people, writing & communicating.

You can hear Tony on-air at Wi******er Radio on Thursdays at 8pm with 'Classically Yours' - an hour of classical music for your enjoyment. And at the weekends he presents the 'Retro-Breakfast Show' from 8am to 10am on both Saturdays and Sundays, with plenty of classic tunes, and Wi******er happenings and reminisces.

A holiday in 1979 in the South of France.
My girlfriend and I had travelled from Newhaven (England) to South of France by train for our summer holiday.
We arrived early; had to sit in a cafe awaiting our accommodation.
