One of the things that makes The Great House so unique is its beautiful position right on the River Thames.

With riverside walks on our doorstep, it’s a favourite with locals, visitors and plenty of four-legged friends too.

But it’s not just people and dogs that call this stretch of the river home. Look closely and you might spot some of our local wildlife, from swans and ducks to herons and the occasional kingfisher.

Another look back at Fire & Feast, where we gathered around one communal table on the lawn for an evening of al fresco dining in our beautiful riverside setting 🌿

With the Thames as our backdrop, the evening was a true celebration of summer, bringing seasonal ingredients, deliciously grilled food and great company together in one memorable evening.

Summer at The Great House is in full swing.

The garden is full of familiar faces, families settling in for lunch, little ones playing in the garden and neighbours catching up over a drink as the afternoon rolls on.

With the school holidays here, there’s nowhere better to spend a summer day by the river. Come for lunch, stay for a while and make the most of the sunshine together.

Fire, feasting and a summer evening we won’t forget.

Last Friday, we welcomed guests to our lawn for an evening of open fire cooking, long table dining and live music, all set against the beautiful riverside backdrop of The Great House.

From scallops barbecued in the shell and Berkshire picanha cooked over the flames to grilled summer fruits with coconut ice cream, each course was prepared as the evening unfolded, bringing together the flavours of the season.

A beautiful evening of delicious food, great company and golden hour dining beside the Thames.

And this might not be the last you see of Fire & Feast... keep your eyes peeled.
