My last Tumblers post….
It’s taken me a few days to really get my head around what has happened and how appallingly Tumblers has been targeted by some neighbours & dealt with by some of the council. From week one some residents had complained about the bar by circulating an anonymous letter to the neighbourhood encouraging more complaints to be made to the council. The letter mentioned me personally & my previous venue, although I’m not going to post the actual letter on here ( as it would generate animosity & I’m bigger than that) but it’s important that the truth is known & the real story is shared. The letter was sent to licensing by myself as evidence of harassment but not considered in the hearing, in fact we were made out to be the aggressors & had apparently intimidated the anonymous complainers by speaking publicly about our licensing plight. I’ve never denied that no noise was generated from the bar, all pubs create some noise but the complaints were highly exaggerated and the police even said they could not guarantee or prove they had come from the bar. The town will now be much less vibrant with less choice & variety with a handful of vindictive people to blame for that, although it’s important not lose sight what the bar was really about, it was about community, friendships, great cocktails, & supporting local business & we definitely achieved all of that with some great memories. Thank you to everyone that supported us, I have a lot to sort out now, but I’m hoping it’s not the end & something new is around the corner, big love to you all ❤️💪🙌🙌🙌
