Last call for The H***h, this Saturday 14th October with DJ Jonny Howe from London, and live music from Island favourites Rewired.

We’ll kick off the night at 9.00pm and wind down at 1.30am.

Jonny is a London based DJ, Producer and Session Musician. He spins an eclectic range of music, from rare groove and old school funk and hip-hop to contemporary house and electro, some you might know, others you may not, but he always delivers with soul. He currently holds residencies in West Thirty Six, Beach Blanket Babylon, and also The Defectors Weld in West London.

We caught up with H***h regular and our April DJ Storm Mollison to ask her a bit about how she got into DJing and what she loves. Looks like we are in for some groove shark rhythm glittery funk at the next H***h!

The H***h: What’s the best gig you have played?

Storm: Definitely when I played room 2 at XOYO whilst one of my biggest DJ influences headlined, Jonas Rathsman

The H***h: What’s the worst gig you ever played?

Storm: Hmm hard to say I find enjoyment in any gig, big or small, but anything corporate and more so background music is less enjoyable.

The H***h: How did you get into DJing?

Storm: I come from a long line of musicians, I guess I was just passed the baton!

The H***h: What song is guaranteed to get you dancing?

Storm: Anything by Prince.

The H***h: Who’s your favourite band/singer and why?

Storm: Prince because he's Prince ! haha

The H***h: Describe your sound in five words…

Storm: Groove shark rhythm glittery funk.

The H***h: What do you like about the H***h?

Storm: From the first song everybody is ready to dance the night away.

Derek Sandy joins the H***h to Banish the Blues

We’ve never been big believers in dry Januaries, so we’re opening the bar at 8.00pm on January 14th and kicking off with some laid back re-tox sounds before Isle of Wight reggae legend Derek Sandy hits the stage just after 9.00pm, playing a set that takes us from Kingston Town to Motown.

Keeping it warm we switch back to our DJ.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our launch yesterday.

What a night! DJ Dom and live funk band Groove Union did us all proud and kept that dance floor busy all night long.

A huge thank you to them both - we've had so much wonderful feedback and praise for them both - we very much look forward to inviting them back to The H***h in 2017.
