WHO AND WHAT ARE THE PASIC CHARITY
WE PUT COMPASSION AT THE HEART OF EVERTHING WE DO, MAKING LIVES BETTER FOR FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER ACROSS THE EAST MIDLANDS.
We work to make sure no family in the East Midlands faces childhood cancer alone, supporting around 500 families facing the news no parent wants to hear – that their child has cancer.
We provide practical, social, emotional and financial support to families suffering the trauma of a child’s cancer diagnosis. We support families at Leicester and Nottingham Children’s Hospitals, Northampton General Hospital and in the community. Our support is given to those receiving treatment and end-of-life care, as well as the families of children up to three years post-treatment, at a time when many young people are left disabled and with chronic health problems and mental health difficulties. For many, we are a social lifeline at an extremely distressing time.
