Four years ago, Tipsy Owl first opened its doors. Two years ago, we took the leap into our current home down a little purple lane in Pontypridd.

So this week, we're celebrating properly! 🥳

Five days of drinks, live music and everything that makes Tipsy Owl, Tipsy Owl. 🍸🎶

🎂 WEDNESDAY — 4TH BIRTHDAY BASH

We're kicking things off with £4 birthday drinks, plus Golden Owls hidden around the bar with prizes to be won! 👀🦉

🎤 THURSDAY — OPEN MIC NIGHT

Our weekly Open Mic from 8pm. Come sing, play, perform or just enjoy the music!

🎸 FRIDAY — JAMILA LIVE

The incredible Jamila live from 8pm.

Soulful. Powerful. Unmissable. 🎶

🥁 SATURDAY — STEEL DRUMS + VINYL

Pan Man Gen brings the Caribbean vibes with live steel drums from 4pm–6pm. 🌴☀️

Then Chris Murphy takes over from 6pm until late with a huge Vinyl Saturday session. 💿🕺

☘️ SUNDAY — TEMPLE BAR HOUSE BAND

We're finishing the celebrations with proper Irish Sunday vibes from 5pm! 🇮🇪🍻

💜 4 YEARS OF TIPSY OWL 🦉

Four years ago today, Tipsy Owl was born and began trading from inside Little Pickers.

And two years ago today, we were celebrating our second week in our very own home — hidden away down a little purple lane off Pontypridd High Street.

What a four years it has been.

Over the last 12 months alone:

🏆 Crowned Best Bar in Wales 2025 — and finalists again for 2026
🏆 Named Cocktail Bar of the Year 2025/26
🏆 Aiden has been has been shortlisted at the UK Entrepreneur Awards 2026

But what we're proudest of isn't the awards.

💜 We've now put more than £20,000 back into our community through sponsorships, donations and support.

🏉 Main sponsor of Pontypridd Minis & Juniors, supporting a club of around 300 local children
🏏 Supported local cricket
⚽ Backed junior football
🏐 Supported local netball
🎳 Supported our bowls community
🏃 Backed local running clubs
🌈 The main sponsor of RCT Pride 2026
♾️ Continued providing a weekly home for our local autism community
💜 Supported women's wellbeing and mental-health initiatives
🎤 Continued giving local musicians, DJs, comedians and performers a stage

We've grown from a little idea inside another business into an award-winning independent venue, coffee shop, local employer and community space.

But Tipsy Owl has never just been about cocktails.

We wanted to create somewhere welcoming, inclusive and unapologetically Pontypridd — somewhere that genuinely gives back to the town that supports us.

Tipsy Owl has officially been named a finalist for Best Bar at The Welsh Hospitality Awards 2026! 💜🦉

After winning Best Bar in Wales in 2025, being back amongst the finalists for 2026 means an unbelievable amount to us.

We genuinely can’t thank the Pontypridd community enough. You’ve backed us, supported us, recommended us and helped turn this slightly mad little owl into what it is today.

As soon as voting opens, we’ll let you all know! 👀🏆
