Jive Hive Plymouth

A little change to Saturday’s line-up!

Matt’s hurt his back, so we’re wishing him a speedy recovery. Stepping in alongside Flavio is the fabulous Richard! Believe me you won’t be disappointed.

Check him out in the video—then join us on the dance floor!

Thanks to Rock Bottoms (Cheeky Little Weekenders) for the use of this video.

Here’s a question for our dancers.

Can you remember the first person who asked you to dance at Jive Hive?

Maybe you were completely new or maybe you’d been dancing elsewhere for years.

Maybe you were quietly hoping nobody would notice you standing at the side of the floor.

Then somebody held out their hand and asked for a dance.

It’s such a small thing, but it can make all the difference.

So we’re curious…

Who was your first dance with at Jive Hive?

And if you remember, tag them below.

We’d love to hear some of those stories.

You spoke. We listened.

If there are songs you would love to hear—or tracks that are not working for you—send your feedback through our anonymous music-request form.

DJ Shauny wants the Monday-night playlist to give more people more music they enjoy dancing to.

What are you waiting for?

05/10/2026

You spoke, we listened.

The music is a huge part of what makes Jive Hive Jive Hive. and your feedback helps shape it. So we're giving you more ways to get involved.

If there's a track you'd love to dance to, just scan the QR code on your table and send DJ Shaun an anonymous request.

Anything that you think will bring the floor to life. Because the goal is simple, more music you love, more fun on the dance floor, and a night you just don't want to leave.

We're also delighted to have DJ Kerry joining us for guest slots, bringing her own style and music to the Hive.

And if you're a budding DJ with your own equipment and fancy trying a guest slot, we would love to hear from you. Just email [email protected].

Keep the feedback coming - and let's keep the Hive buzzing.

A little advance notice for our Jive Hive dancers.

From 2027, entry will increase from £8 to £10. This increase will help us cover rising running costs and maintain the quality of our Monday nights.

We want to keep delivering the evenings you value: two lessons, support for our New Bees, and over two hours of freestyle—including our slower, expressive music to finish.

Just as much of the Hive ethos comes from you: welcoming newcomers, sharing dances and making Monday nights somewhere people want to return to. We appreciate the part each of you play.

Thank you for continuing to support Jive Hive Plymouth.

£3. Not much these days.

But at Jive Hive it buys your entire first night.

• Two lessons
• More than two hours of freestyle.
• People to dance with.
• Help when you need it.

And enough time to decide whether modern jive is actually your thing.

No contract. No course to sign up for. No partner required.

Just come and try it.

If you hate it, you’ve lost £3.

If you love it, Monday nights might look rather different from now on.
