To close off our summer soirées we’ve teamed up with Cosmic Pint Glass to Bring you Brian Not Brian at Friday 15th September, It’s been incredible to bring some of the most highly regarded tastemakers to the fine city which have included and now so let’s finish the summer off by showing how we get down in Norwich.

Belfast-born, London based Brian not Brian is one of the purest and most intense characters of the contemporary DJ scene. As a relentless music lover from his early teens Brian has been involved in numerous musical adventures and expressions over the last 2 decades plus.

As one of the founding members of London's cult Special Needs parties throughout the early noughties, and with various guest & headline DJ slots at parties and festivals across the world he’s had the immense pleasure of playing records alongside some of his heroes, friends & influences.

Inspired by music that invokes feelings and images of windswept beaches, far off galaxies, concrete streets & late night encounters, he is always searching for hidden rhythms and those undisclosed beats with a thirst that is never quenched.

Brian has managed to gather an impressive selection of different music from across eras and spectrums throughout his time spent in the booth and with many years experience as a trusted tastemaker working behind the counters of some of London's best and most respected record stores.

His typically longform DJ sets are able to cross genre boundaries with ease, taste and sensitivity. Whether it be jazz or cosmic disco, boogie, techno or house it makes no difference. Brian looks for quality, longevity, soul & substance - not trends.

Going Good, the record label he operates with longtime partner in crime Salik is the proof of this musical openness and fanaticism. Across a span of 6 years and counting Going Good has gained attention and appreciation worldwide through impactful releases from established and previously unknown artists alike.

Parish Presents Poly-Ritmo 16th June - Free entry.

We’ve wanted to book for such a long time now so we can’t wait to bring her to the pub garden in June 🌸

London-based DJ, festival organiser and musician Poly-Ritmo brings heat to the hips and feet with selections
from around the globe. While she doesn't stick to one style or genre, her joyful energy always radiates to the
crowd. Weaving tunes that are genuinely eclectic and igniting dancefloors with percussive rhythmic
Having grown up on jazz, soul, Latin and folk, Poly-Ritmo's musical ear developed from a young age. At 15,
she started work experience at Sounds Of The Universe (home of Soul Jazz Records) and knew then she
wanted to pursue music. She went on to study Ethnomusicology at SOS, and her musical knowledge grew
deep and expansive. After regular shows on SOAS Radio, Netil and guest appearances on NTS, Jazz FM, and
Balamii, Poly-Ritmo became part of the Worldwide FM family, where for over 2 years she has had a monthly
residency, spinning anything from forró to broken beat, to kwaito to zouk.
Poly-Ritmo is a regular feature on the festival circuit, playing in legendary spaces such as Glastonbury, Gala,
We Out Here, Shambala, Lost Village and many more. She is also the co-founder and creative director of the
Basket of Light Festival, an intimate and inspiring event in its third year. The festival features over 30 artists
across three stages - a diverse, playful and flavourful curation of international talent. In London, Poly-Ritmo
hosts a regular night, Chega Mais, with fellow DJ, Volta 45, showcasing established and emerging bands, both
from London-based and touring musicians.
During lockdown, Poly-Ritmo recorded several filmed mixes for Vinyl Factory, Boiler Room and My Analog
Journal, which can be viewed on Youtube. One of these mixes, entitled 'Records from Brazil with Poly-Ritmo'
has over 1 million views, building a dedicated worldwide following. Poly-Ritmo made her Boiler Room debut
in 2020 hosting a Brazilian session with live performances from Marcos Valle, Kassin, Sabrina and Alex
Malheiros and Ivan Conti.
