WHQ is an Independent, multiracial Nightclub in Newcastle established since 1993. WHQ has an attitude free, girl-friendly, multi racial, block party vibe.

It’s kinda like a really good party in a comfy little secret house... We are truly independent, underground & aim to expose as much diverse music as possible. We spin all kinds of black music & also good records from all other genres too. What we do is a people thing & is a refreshingly credible & cosmopolitan alternative to the City's out-dated, corporate leisure group, stag party type groove. At

WHQ, the far out music we are into & the up for it, hands in the air, switched on crowd & communities who come, are the stars. We want everyone who comes here to feel truly uplifted by the music we play. We’re also ridiculous value & are basically half the price of other places & twice as good....
If you’ve never been before, you should give it a try, you’ll be amazed. We're very popular with tourists & visitors to the City, as one of our aims is to create a club in Newcastle that would work just as well in any other city in the world. Break The Loop season 2 done! Season 3 kicks off on July 2nd 🌍

If you're female or non binary and want to learn to DJ then this course is aimed specifically at you!

If you’re looking to start DJ’ing or gain some new skills but lack the equipment or where to start then this is for you! The course will be led by .ee.nzy & .uk , two amazing talents who DJ at the club often as well as plenty of other gigs around the country supporting huge artists.

On the course you can expect to learn the basics of DJ’ing, Beatmatching, track selection, putting mixes together and plenty more. The course will finish with a showcase at the club for all Break The Loop graduates!

In order to keep the course intimate and focused, numbers will be limited to ensure you’re getting as much time on the decks as possible. The course will be on Thursday evenings from 6pm - 8pm, starting from 9th April and finishing 28th May. The cost of the full 8 weeks is £80, so just £10 a week, £5 per hour! 🎧

Season 2 of Break The Loop is almost done! 🌍

Alongside course leaders .uk and .ee.nzy we saw the lack of diversity on line ups in the region, but also the lack of entry points for female & non binary DJ's to learn how to DJ on club standard equipment and take the leap to becoming a DJ.

The second 8 week season finishes with the season 2 showcase so those who have taken part in the course can show off their skills and mark the end of what's been such a great journey for everyone involved.

We'd love to see loads of you come and show support on 12th June for the next generation of female and non binary DJ's in the region. And if you're interested in joining the course in the future, this is the ideal time to come and speak to people running the course and people who have taken part.
