Well we got there in the end. Our Jameson’s farm to glass race has come to an end and we managed it in 4 hours 15. Not bad for old man Roy. Where have we ended up, the free trade inn of course where else.

The free trade inn is A truly magnificent place. A place which you instantly call home the moment you step through the door. Fantastic beers and company and we can’t say much else other than it’s the best view you have ever seen of Newcastle and probably ever will. A simply must visit pub whenever your in Newcastle.

Almost done on our Jameson’s farm to glass race day. Penultimate stop at the legendary cluny and our first stop in the wonderful ouseburn valley.

The cluny is a live music venue which has been around since 2001. Even better it’s been truly independent now for almost two years and it continues to push an ever strong local music scene as well as much more. The cluny continues to grow in its popularity and does not look like stopping anytime soon. Cluny, thank you for allowing us behind your bar and thank you for making our local community better and stronger. each and every day.

It’s the final stretch on our Jameson’s farm to glass race day. This time we hit the bridge tavern to serve up and chat everything fungi and Irish whiskey.

The bridge tavern is a pub which pretty much nails everything perfectly. Food, wine and beer. It’s also home to one of our great friends who is the head brewer. Oh yes did we mention it’s a brewpub. What a ridiculously wonderful place to sip a pint or throw down one of there legendary Sunday lunches. Don’t forgot that god damn incredible haggis toastie.

Half way point in our Jameson’s farm to glass race day. Another of our favourite spots where we were lucky enough to serve our cocktail today.

The box social is another of our favourite spots in Newcastle where the community has become part of its fixtures. This beauty of a spot has become a hub of thriving beer since it’s birth in 2016. A bar which also serves its own beer brewed in the newburn area of Newcastle. It’s campfire porter becoming a fan favourite of its regulars. All hail the box social.

Another stop in our Jameson’s farm to glass race has been completed. An epic visit stirring and talking all things mushroom and whiskey.

Tilleys bar has been and is a regular haunt of many an ale drinker in Newcastle. A rather ridiculous amount of craft beer adorns the fridges in what can only be described as an old school boozer with a modern attitude to beer. From American ipa to Trappist ales this place has got it all. A visit to this place in one you won’t forget.

Bealim house is gin parlour with its own gin distillery right in the centre of town perfect for afternoon tipples and conversation. It’s house distilled gin becoming a firm favourite for lovers of everything juniper based. Bealim house, we salute you.

That’s our first bar done on our Jameson’s farm to glass day out in town. A flying visit and a cracking start in one of our favourite pubs. This Friday afternoon we are out and about visiting some of our favourite places in the Newcastle bar community. We decided to take our cocktail on a little tour of the city in a race around town. If we see you out and about come say hi and have a chat about all things Jameson’s whiskey as Roy races to complete all eight bars in four hours.

This is also a chance to taste what we have been working on recently which we are very proud of as it concentrates on using the local community to bring awareness of some of the great things the city is doing right now. It’s also a chance to taste the drink for the first time before we take a very special menu concentrating on awareness in responsible bartending using waste produce to Edinburgh next Thursday for a takeover
