With a shade over 3 months to go, it’s about time we gave you the lowdown on the next installment of The Nu Beat Club.

The date is Saturday 11 July 2026. The place is The Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester M1 7HE.

The Nu Beat’s own The Good, The Bad and The Ugly resident selectors will be joined by special guests - Manchester’s own man about town Xavi Heras, making a welcome return, and debutant Sonny Anderson from Ten2One Sound in Bristol and Sheffield.

Expect to hear the patented Nu Beat mix of 60s Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Soul and R&B all played on original vinyl.

Good news for all our regulars that missed out on tickets for our January night, we have moved upstairs to the larger Lodge room. Hopefully this should mean that everyone that wants a ticket should be able to get one this time.

Entry is £8 and advanced tickets are available from Eventbrite.

Thanks to everyone that came along to Saturday’s Nu Beat Club on a suitably wet night in Manchester. Special mention to everyone that travelled vast distances to be with us. We really do appreciate all your efforts.

What a brilliant night. The music was spot on. The dancers were energetic all night. And the room was exceeding packed and sweaty. But, would it be the Nu Beat if it wasn’t?

We are planning our next club night for June. Just keep an eye on our Social Media for the date and all the details of that in the upcoming weeks.

Happy New Year from The Nu Beat Club.

It’s just under four weeks before our first night of 2026. Saturday 31 January is the date and it’s at our new home at The Deaf Institute.

Here’s a tune to get you in the mood for the club that sums up everything The Nu Beat stands for. It’s a Jamaican artist singing a Soul/R&B song that was recorded in England.

Shake Some Time by Ronnie Gordon (with backing by Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames) on the London based record label R&B Discs. Expect to hear this at some point in the proceedings on 31 January.

Advanced tickets are selling really well, so, to avoid the risk of disappointment on the night, head over to Eventbrite to bag one now!

The next time you see SkaJesus in action will be at the upcoming Nu Beat Club. Details coming in very soon. Make sure you save the date – Saturday 31 January - keep watching this space for updates.
