Because, we are thrilled to be BACK AT IT this weekend - for Manchester Pride! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Invited along to join our LONGTIME sisters from other misters; the beautiful sirens of 𝙈𝙄𝙓𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎 - playing our a small part in their full day of q***r-focused shenanigans; celebrating every single wonderful soul in the q***r & trans community.

Q***r led parties, q***r DJS, q***r producers / artists, and q***r clubs have played a fundamental part in all of our musical awakenings (whether one chooses to accept that fact, or not), and we are of course… absolutely no exception.

Now…. Contrary to popular belief, or what you may have heard about how much we chatter on about Gay Pawn… but ESPECIALLY what you might have watched online 👀 … we would both, generally speaking, consider ourselves as straight boys. ‘Allies’, some call it. We just call it ‘being a decent human’.

We therefore hold being invited by 𝙈𝙄𝙓𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎 to play a few records alongside them on Saturday, as the MOST honour-some, lovely, warm, and welcoming embrace - from one set of kindred spirits to another.

We’ll be helping set the tone early doors at this one… firming the ground for the OUTSTANDING:

One of those nights where a beautiful stranger on the dancefloor confessed that they had to pinch themselves to remember that they were in their favourite record shop in Stretford…

Saturday was our affirmation… and no, not simply that Stretfordians love Gay Pawn.

But that this LOVE, and this COMMUNITY and this MUSIC, is here to STAY ‼️

1) for each one of you who piled in to our weird record store-cum-club hybrid for Stretford Pride, and who brought with them exactly the right kind of joy & energy that we could ever wish for.

But sincerely now (just for a moment…), Saturday genuinely meant everything to us, at Nite School.

It was an affirmation.

And no… not just an affirmation of the fact that ‘Stretford is STILL gagging for gay pawn’…. Saturday affirmed much more to us than just that.

It was one of those nights where a beautiful dancefloor stranger leaned in to let us know us that they ‘had to keep pinching themselves’ to remember that they were actually in their favourite Stretfordian record store.

Saturday affirmed it to us; that come what may… Stretford SHOWS UP for THIS.

Guaranteed to cook up a steamy & hedonistic dancefloor storm, his sets are delectably served up with a healthy seasoning of his own signature soundscape, shaped and influenced by his many years of service at Mancunian alt-q***r mainstays High Hoops and BENT HEDONISM (to name just a couple).

On Saturday 15 August, GAY PAWN returns - RESTOCKED - operating from our highly intimate new store location on King Street; Fountain Records.

For one nite only, Stretford’s finest independent record store-cum-club will be transformed into a glitzy late-nite trading floor of genre-fluid, q***r hedonism.

For the official afterparty to Stretford Pride, we’ll be running WAY into the wee hours, in solidarity with and in celebration of q***r & trans freedom. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Behind the counter, we are extremely pleased to welcome Belfast-born, Manchester-shaped selector & Free The Night founder Holly Lester , who will be joined by Nite School residents S k i p p y , Mikey and David James, for a nite of q***r-led club energy.
