Another blinding Jamaican rum that demands your attention. The Hampden distillery have built a reputation of creating high quality flavourful rums and their latest and oldest tropically aged flagship will no doubt continue this legacy.

A typical Hampden profile, incredibly rich with over ripe banana, caramel, fruitcake and gives way to savory notes with olive brine and hint of miso... This is a rum you'll want to spend time with.

The bad news ( if any) is that it's currently priced beyond the reach of many a rum drinker. The good news is if you pop into Trailer as a member of our rum club we'll let you try a reasonably priced sample before you pull the trigger on a full bottle 😁❤️

The odds of a top 5 Rum List without a rum are pretty long.

Foursquare have been consistently producing great rums for many years now and while they seldom re-invent the wheel (if it ain't broke...) they continue to raise the bar.

Here we have Mandamus a 16 year old rum bottled at 57% which has spent 6 of those years in a port cask. This goes beyond finishing, and the additional aging creates a seamless integration between the rum and the two casks. Rich, fruity With notes of dark cherries, chocolate and a finish of spice and ginger. The Tawny port is present but never overwhelmes. Definitely our favourite port cask Foursquare since the OG release.

One of the most exciting rums to come out this year and one that had to be a part of our top 5 is the Single Estate 3rd Edition from

The molasses is sourced directly from the newly acquired Mount Gay sugarcane Estate in Barbados making this an incredibly limited release. This Coffey still rum is also bottled unaged at 48%. Aromatics burst with Tropical fruits and fresh cut grass. On the palate it is subtle yet complex with green citrus, minrality, fresh cane juice and pears. We look forward to spending more time with this bottle.

An outstanding Rum.

Our next Top 5 Rum pick is a beautiful rum from Guyana. This is Eldorado's second High Ester expression and includes rum from their Heritage Port Mourant still and is bottled at 51.7%

This is not a High Ester in the Familiar sense of a Jamaican High Ester rum. Instead it takes the classic and well loved PM profile and injects an extra layer of brightness with hints of white port, green apple, plum and cloves. It's a very easy rum to drink with the richness and full body we've come to expect from El Dorado Rums.

2025 has introduced so many wonderful new rums to the category. We'd struggle to pick our absolute favourite but have decided to offer our top 5 in no particular order 😉

Kicking things off is our very own collaboration with a 17 year old tropically aged pot-still rum from Jamaica bottled at 54% ABV

Worthy Park grow thier own sugarcane on the estate which means they are able to supply their own molasses, a rarity in the Carribbean but a practice that we will start to see more of in 2026.

This is a wonderful example of Jamaican Rum. With it's intense and complex mix of flavours like dark fruits, raisins, ripe banana, pineapple, chocolate and spices this is truly a rum for rum lovers.
