Six tickets still left for the Bon Voyage Black Tie dance on Friday the 22nd April, with the Alex Mendham Orchestra. The venue is the Indian YMCA in Fitzroy Square London W1. Dances will be mostly quickstep, slow foxtrot, jive, slow and Viennese waltz and a few tangos and rumbas. The Alex Mendham Orchestra employ the best musicians under the ago of forty for prewar style music, and were the orchestra in the Miss Selfridge movie. This is the dance before the Queen Mary II leaves for a dance cruise to New York. Tickets are £22 plus booking fee from the link below. Formal dress- black tie, smart vintage and evening dress only

Only about fifteen tickets now left for the Bon Voyage Black Tie Ball on Friday 22nd April with the eleven piece Alex Mendham Orchestra- the most skilled young musicians in the UK playing pre-war style dance music. See our 'event' page for a link to buy tickets, which are £22 each. Many of the guests will have flown here from the USA to attend this dance. I am hopeful that we will at least get an equal number of well dressed competent dancers from here. The Black Tie Ballroom Club has twenty tickets for sale for the 'Bon Voyage Ball' with the Alex Mendham Orchestra playing at the Indian YMCA, which is near Warren Street tube station. The orchestra is composed of the best young musicians in the world for pre war style dance music, and were the orchestra in the Miss Selfridge movie. This dance will mark the next day departure of the Queen Mary to New York, on a voyage wherein the Alex Mendham Orchestra will be the on board resident dance orchestra. It is a black tie, evening dress or smart vintage dress only event. The date is Friday 22 April 2022, and doors will open at 7 pm

Careful- there seems to be a scam happening in the last hour with about five individuals all offering to sell their three or four tickets for the dance tonight, as they have changed their minds about going. I have no record of any of these names having bought any tickets on line, so don't send them any money, at least until after you have had it confirmed by whoever is on the door in Colliers Wood that the ticket they sent to you is genuine

Sold out! All tickets for our Black Tie Ball for tonight (Boxing day) with the Art Deco Orchestra have now been sold, so we will not be selling any tickets on the door.
Our next dance probably won't be until August 2022

About four tickets only are still unsold for our Black Tie Boxing Day Dance with the Art Deco Orchestra with vocals by Alistair Sutherland.
This event will mark the end of George Tudor-Hart's fourteen year role as manager/producer of the Colliers Wood Ballroom Dancers Friday and Sunday dance classes and socials.
Tickets are £15, which includes a free drink from the bar. Dress code is Black Tie, smart vintage and evening dress only. There will be a ten best dressed women competition- for those who can get around the floor dancing a slow waltz- plus musical chairs, a snow ball waltz, a Paul Jones and a quickstep bus stop and maybe a lilac waltz and a Mayfair quickstep

Extras who can dance ballroom are required for a new TV series of 'The Crown'
If you are, or look, over forty and can dance slow waltz, slow foxtrot and quickstep, please read the details below, and apply if you think you meet the criteria,
We similarly supplied dance Extras for 'Killing Eve' which was shot at the Rivoli two years ago, which worked out well.

Wanted
Mature London-based dancers (40years+) experienced in ballroom dance (waltz, foxtrot, quickstep) for a paid opportunity to dance in The Crown, choreographed by Polly Bennett (The Crown, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Great.)
Casting/Rehearsals:
Must have good availability for 2 days rehearsal between Monday 30th August and Friday 17th September.
If selected will need to come for a costume fitting and Covid tests at Elstree Studios.
Shoot dates:
Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd September
Pay:
This is paid work. This will be discussed by production if you get selected. I am just the middle woman!
