Our head McGregor has released a new EP today. All proceeds are going to various BLM, antiracism charities and bail funds. He's included a link to a google doc filled with black artists and labels to support on Bandcamp day, which we urge you to check out before considering his EP:

"I have been planning on releasing something around now ever since lockdown began, partly as a byproduct of coping with isolation, and partly because I’ve started to feel comfortable with sharing my output. Now more than ever, I want to reject my own silence.

I feel an urge to speak out and try to push past my own self-doubt and criticism not just in music, but in an effort to encourage others to speak out and act towards racial justice, equality and reform. As a white member of a music culture fused with black oppression, I acknowledge the unjust privilege I have in being able to enjoy club music without feeling the same racial fear, pain and anguish this music was founded on. I strongly encourage others to try to understand this.

It is so important for white people to work alongside the anti-racist cause precisely because the system leans in our favour. We have the capacity to convince, to argue with, and to challenge stubborn racist minds without the same racial fear, denigration or ignorance experienced by people of colour. We have a responsibility to make sure we collectively understand that the system we belong to is a flawed one, and that change is desperately needed."

Haar stands with the Black Lives Matter Movement, and operates in solidarity with the current protests against systemic racism worldwide.

It is our collective responsibility to educate ourselves and others on the effects and depths of white privilege, and the spread and severity of the institutional racism we see today.

Institutions that should act to enable peace are thwarting their power to serve violently racist agendas. Leaders are complicit and responsible in the deaths of so many innocent people, and they must be held to account.
