Poke London Indie LGBTQ club night. So if you're sick of the same old sh*t being pumped at you by all the gay bars, come and bend to our beat instead.

Providing a safe-haven from cliché, stereotype and GaGa, POKE is an independently-run club night, originating in Newcastle, that recognizes the oft-ignored truth that many gay guys and girls CAN and DO appreciate music of a rather less commercial bent. Sure, we love Madonna and Scissor Sisters (of course we do), but we also dig The Cure, tUnE-yArDs, Bjork, The Smiths, Grandmaster Flash, Arcade Fir

e, Peaches, LCD Soundsystem, Kraftwerk, Goldfrapp, The Ramones, Purity Ring, Los Campesinos!, Roots Manuva, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wild Beasts, 2 Bears, The Gossip, Kelis, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Emiliana Torrini, Kate Bush, Eugene McGuinness... (you get the idea). (And, though predominantly a gay night, our doors are open to anyone that appreciates what we play. All we ask is that you don't be a twat).
