Merry Christmas boys, gals and gender nonconforming friends, as a special treat this year we've bought you the mix series no one asked for - The 12 BPMs of Christmas. We don't know about you, but we personally cannot think of a better way to shake off the cumulative Christmas/New Year's hangover than a series of club-focused mixes getting gradually more aggressive in style and tempo.

After dusting off our techno-themed nativity set, complete with a baby-faced Ben UFO as our new-born lord and saviour, a painting of the iconic blessed Madonna in the back and a miniature Solomon DJing the afterparty in the stable next door, we felt inspired to put together an iconic coming-together of our own. So, we put our heads together and rounded up 12 of the finest DJs our scene has to offer, asking each of them to give us their best mix at a randomly selected tempo, ranging from 90 to the inimitable 200.

Obviously all of these DJs said no, at which point we were left with no other option than to piece together a line-up from the next logical step down - promoters, residents, party aficionados and a few of those names you recognise after seeing them being far too vocal in Facebook comments sections. Thankfully, this assortment of heads just so happened to turn out to be an incredibly talented group of button pushers - and we can't wait to show you what they've cooked up.

We'll be releasing these on each of the 12 days of Christmas in order of increasing tempo to slowly power you up into the new year...

Starting us off low & slow at 90 BPM is OTC resident Madu with a jazzy hip-hop mix - the perfect mix to listen to as you slowly fall into a food coma after smashing your body weight in turkey and half a bottle of Baileys.

Happy belated new year. A scouting mission to The Cause to check out Batu was more than successful. Someone from Hessle and Timedance would really hit the spot for a future party...
