Mystic Moods Festival - Introducing Ethnic Codes

Ethnic Codes is the fruition of incidental pathways and mindsets aligning. Otto from London and Ailenas from Mažeikiai met out of chance against the odds to form an unlikely bond over mystical electronica and tribal influenced dance music. Having performed many times pushing musical boundaries, immersive rhythms and promoting cultural diversity and celebration you could expect their paths to diverge, but for Ethnic Codes, the journey is just about to begin, expect nothing less than the unexpected.

Mystic Moods Festival - Introducing Afrodelic (Victor Diawara, Gediminas Mačiulskis and Boris
Kulenovic)

Afrodelic is the project of guitarist and producer Victor Diawara who has released his debut album Dusunkun Hakili (The memory of the heart) in June 2022. An intriguing mix of African music and electronic rhythms. Most songs were recorded in Bamako (Mali) with local musicians and singers. Victor later added electronic sounds and beats in his studio in Vilnius (Lithuania).

The collection of songs is a tribute to Diawara’s father: well-known and respected Malian writer and poet Gaoussou Diawara who passed away in 2018.

Born in Lithuania, raised in Mali, Victor lived in Germany and Ireland before permanently moving back to his mother’s home country Lithuania in 1997. Here, he formed Skamp – a band which became wildly popular in Lithuania at the end of the “noughties”. Skamp have released 10 albums, performed around Europe, won a number of music awards and were nominated for MTV European Music Award (twice).

„Afrodelic“ – žinomo lietuvos muzikanto Viktoro Diawaros solo muzikos projektas, išvydęs dienos šviesą po trylikos metų darbo. Atlikėjas projektą vadina suartėjimu su Maliu – savo vaikystės namais – o tuo pačiu ir pradžia į tarptautinį muzikos pasaulio pripažinimą. „Afrodelic“ dainose skamba prieš trejus mirusio Viktoro tėvo – žinomo Malio rašytojo ir poeto Gaoussou Diawaros tekstai. Būtent jam atminti ir skirtas šis projektas, kurį dabar Diawara vadina savo kūrybos prioritetu.
