The Chase Archive ✍️
Some of the most important work in cigar culture was never rolled — it was written.
Hunters & Frankau has introduced the Chase Archive, a new section dedicated to the writings of Simon Chase — one of the most influential voices in the modern understanding of Cuban Ci**rs.
Spanning articles from 2009 to 2017, with more to come, the archive captures decades of knowledge shaped by a career that began in 1977. From A Short Appreciation of Cuban Ci**rs to The World of Habanos, Chase helped define how ci**rs are explained, taught, and appreciated beyond Cuba.
But his impact went further.
Through Cigar World, Cigar School, and his role in developing formal education within the industry, he created structure where there was once very little.
The Chase Archive brings that work back into focus — not as nostalgia, but as a living reference.
A reminder that behind every great cigar, there is also understanding.
