Every event needs a good old fashioned bar and Writtle Jazz Festival has secured "The Vintage Bar Company"! Here's a little bit about their story....

It is that journey that in June 2018 we embarked upon with our aim to restore this timeless French workhorse into a superb fully functioning mobile bar. The result is there for all to see and I’m sure you will agree with us the old boy has brushed up quite well.

The Citroen HY vans back in the mid seventies were common place in the French countryside being used extensively for farming in general. Now however, they are very sought after to be converted into various food and drink emporiums, with their vintage features and rugged build they make and excellent mobile facility.

As a traditional bar you will be able to buy a local real ale on tap and a premium lager as well as all the usual offerings.

We are more than happy to talk you through all our options /prices and can cater for any requests. Our aim is to provide a personalised and flexible service to suite your budget and theme.

Welcome to our page! Heres a little introduction into our story...

Our odyssey began back in June 2018 when we embarked on the mission of not only restoring but converting the beautiful 1974 Citroën HY van. Our aim was to transform the interior into a fully functioning contemporary bar whilst restoring its outer shell to help preserve its timeless French appeal. The Vintage Bar Company is proud to introduce our first fully licensed mobile bar "The Pelforth Express". This vintage van will add a touch of elegance to any event, fitted with sophisticated copper work-surfaces, plush leather interior and state of the art equipment. We stock over 50 flavours of gin and have a passion for sourcing new & exciting flavours, we also have 4 fonts onboard along with a fridge full of booze to accommodate the whole crowd. I guarantee we have something for everyone. We offer an array of tailored packages to make your experience personal and are more than happy to be as flexible as you need us to be. We have the fabulous option for you to design the drinks menu and can stock almost any alcohol you may require. With friendly staff or the option to dry hire the possibilities with this van are endless, making it perfect for any upcoming events you may have.

We have previously been hired to attend Jazz festivals, Weddings, Sports events, Vintage car shows and our most recent was helping the fabulous team at Vichy Laboratories promote their new product around London. We look forward to any new, exciting opportunities and helping to make your event special !
