To all our amazing customers, party people, and sports fans…
After 25 incredible years as Walkabout & Yates, we are truly heartbroken to announce that we are closing our doors for good.
Our final day of trading will be Saturday, 12th September.
This venue has seen hundreds of thousands of pints, electric matchdays, epic weekends, and more memories than could ever fit into one post.
Above all, this place has always been about the people. To our team—past and present—there are simply no words big enough. Walkabout has been so much more than just a job or a workplace to us; it has been a true home, and the team within these walls became a family. The late-night closes, the chaotic shifts, the endless laughs, and the bonds built behind the bar are what gave this venue its heartbeat.
And to our regulars—you are the soul of Walkabout. You turned this pub into a genuine community, and you’ve felt like family from day one. A very special shoutout to our table 43 favourites: you know who you are, we know your orders by heart, and shifts just won't be the same without your familiar faces holding down the spot.
To every single regular, student, and guest who stepped through our doors, thank you for being part of our story and making Walkabout a true staple of Leicester for 25 years.
There’s still time for one last drink, one last dance under the disco ball, and one final cheers together. Join us on September 12th to give our home the massive send-off it deserves—let’s go out with a bang! 🎉🍻
